I'm compiling a bunch of DRVG CVLTVRE material. There's some stuff that will be forthcoming on other labels, but I'm prepping an actual album. I already know what you are going to say, but this release is keeping me awake at night. IN which format should be released? and how is this going to not break me financially?

the simple breakdown is this: 500 cd's set me back 700 euro

500 double LP's will set me back about 2000.

of course I love vinyl, but damn man, I cant cough up that kind of money? and it will take me forever to sell these 500 copies. plus another thing: the Dutch press (and others, in the 'bigger' music press) will not review a 12", but will go for cd release instead.

help me out. whats the word, how do I do this????

Check out Victory under the sun if you haven't yet (or don't know the band), it's some of the most inspiring stuff I 've seen in my life.

La Mort De L’Hippocampe vinyl on Enfant Terrible

Out soon is an album by La Mort De L’Hippocampe. Behind this project is Jérôme Fontan... who sadly passed away last year. Of course he is known for his elektro project Porn.Darsteller. La Mort De L’Hippocampe is something very different from Porn.Darsteller. There is not much pop in this music and there is not much elektro in it either... it has experimental, industrial
and classical sides. This album is somewhere between cabaret, Die Todliche Doris and Schönberg.

This is a conversation by email with record collector Jonny Trunk, which took place on April-May 2012, to prepare a monograph on his library music collection.

Jonny Trunk founded the label Trunk Records in 1995, and it soon gained a cult following as a result of its specialisation in unpublished jazz recordings and film and television soundtracks. Trunk Records was the first label to feature non-commercial library music, a genre that Trunk has written about extensively. Trunk hosts a radio programme at London radio station Resonance FM, and he regularly DJs around the world. He began collecting records around 1982, but rather than focusing on traditional record stores, he chose to comb second hand outlets and street markets. It didn’t take long for him to realise that his obsession was not pop music or modern sounds, but film soundtracks and television music. His record collection now consists of around six thousand LPs and his library music collection focuses on the period from 1966 to 1978 and exhaustively explores british, french, italian and german productions.
