Enjoy!

bs-1: great site! I'm a fan of weird circuit bent experiments, and managed to find a very cool modified analog reverb/delay on Ebay.co.uk thanks to your site.

I didn't check, but I assume you include the postings from synthforum.nl?

Anyway, keep up the good work! I've long since bookmarked it.

i think it's great. probably won't get any of them, but you can't beat this type of entry-level quality and versatility. i would have loved a simple setup like this way back when. the more new nerds with hardware, the better imo

i'm more excited about that new MFB dancing bear drum machine

korg kp2 or kaoss pad quad? I don't want efx for gigs...turntables.whatever..just for easy fun prod.

don't know the quad, but i like the versatility of the kp2 in the studio. For me the quality of the effects is good enough (but i don't like superslick polished perfect music), and the touch interface is so nice for 'feeling' it without looking until it sounds right. Of course standalone fx boxes can have higher quality effects (delay and reverb come to mind) but the great interface along with the large number of different effects make for a great little compact fx device that's also very fun to play with. For a 100 euro or less it's a bargain

it also has more advanced functions, but no idea about those.

cool, thanks for asking. It's a weird one, so no guarantees it will work, but i am trying:

http://m.matrixsynth.com/2007/04/solton-polyvox.html

I don't have the master keyboard that belongs to it (you can see it in the first pic). Could be that it will only work with that dedicated keyboard, but that thing is even rarer than the synth itself

Edit: This Italian auction mentions CV:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solton-Polyvox- … 009803373?

My model is different than any other i've seen online, as it's been fitted with an extra jack input in the back with a sticker above that reads: Master Keyboard. That leads me to believe it's been modded to work with other keyboards than the one it came with.

Anushri synth
Korg Symphony module
Akai MAX49 midi controller (can't quite figure out the CV out, only get clicks so far even though the synth recognizes the input as the sound stops when you plug it in)
Vermona Strings
Casio sk10 circuitbent

i love this thread, thanks guys!

I built a cracklebox from STEIM , only took like 3 hours and i have no soldering skills

Not a true synth, but it makes sounds

Got a MFOS kit, and it's still in its bag...

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am not internet-savvy enough to know how to post my own photos here. The back of my guy looks exactly like the ones in these links, except there is 1/4-inch jack that says "Master keyboard controller input" on mine as well.

http://synthwise.com/feeds/solton-polyvox-5
http://www.flickr.com/photos/matrixsynt … otostream/

What is the input next to the Accordeon Output all the way to the right in the second link i posted, that says "Input"? Is that not CV/gate?

Thanks for the help!

I just acquired the Solton Polyvox, it's this beast:

http://m.matrixsynth.com/2007/04/solton-polyvox.html

Everything sounds great on it, except I do not have the controller keyboard. The Polyvox does not have midi, but CV instead.

How can I use the synthesizer then? Is the solution for me to get a Midi-to-CV adapter, and use a midi keyboard?

My version has a special modified jack input on the back that says "Master keyboard controller", which the one pictured above does not have.

Or is perhaps the Akai Max49 a (expensive) solution? That is a midi controller with CV output.

Thanks for any advice. It's a really fun guy this Polyvox, but thusfar I am limited to the drum computer.

funny discussion. I really enjoy the Drug Culture tracks playing on IFM, and ones I've downloaded. a LOT actually. however, my vinyl collection is bursting at its seams, and I am nowadays too poor to buy new vinyl. So even though I would vote vinyl, because you've given away so much for free and I don't have money I will probably never buy the release. Stop giving it away for free!!! then I would have no other recourse than to buy a nice gatefold double vinyl eventually. That said, if you play a DG gig somewhere and have cds, tapes or even vinyl there it would be hard to pass up

no chance for a Drug culture live set? really enjoy those slow, sleazy tracks playing on IFM

Hieroglyphic Being - The Land of Rape and Honey (Interdimensional Transmissions)

finally!!! after more than 6 years

The Land of Rape and Honey is actually coming out???????????? When I spoke to Jamal back in 2006 he was telling me about this album that would come out on IT later that year. haha

better late than never ey

we take over the city, the residents all become cleaning crew, bar tenders and toilet ladies. forever

also, there is a big abandoned military base adjacent to a big nature reserve, and the "city" of Ede is quite small

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Here there's a more official release as well, including limited vinyl:

i've heard about this, barely know any of the artists, but it's at my two favorite spots and i've never been to the Vondel bunker, so the weekend after next should be interesting! Have been hearing a lot of the Not Not Fun artists on Intergalactic.FM, would be cool to check them out if i can find their names

I have seen a couple bands use the korg microsampler, I was curious about what "real" musicians thought about it (since I am not) and they said really liked the additional value during their sets.

I have one myself as well that i use for radio shows and ambient shit, and as a non-keyboard/hardware guy even I was able to pick it up very fast. It has nice FX, very straightforward interface, plenty of sampling space (as long as you don't require 48k quality), a useful resample option that doesn't take up space, and a little sequencer (though no step sequencer). The mic is a nice bonus for adding weird sounds or whatever. Being able to record and loop stuff and add fx on the fly is a lot of fun.

For live performance as an actual keyboard there is one drawback and that is how the keyboard function has been implemented. Only one sample at a time can be assigned to that, and changing that isn't quite as fast. But i don't use this feature a lot so perhaps there is a quicker way around it.

It does not have LFO or filters though. From what I can tell the MPCs are probably deeper, but also pricier and a bit more complex. the MPC looks better too imo wink
