Thanks Freek. I'm going to trade it with my nagra III (ensoniq, plus some other stuff) so it's a bit of an emotional decision. I only used the nagra once so i guess there's no use holding on to it but still it's very soft on the eyes...still not sure if i'm going to do it... roll

an ensoniq dp4+?

Korg DSS-1. Bought with a broken disk drive but when i took it home it just worked (for now?). Really weird machine but it can sound really big especially in unison mode...

An electro harmonix cathedral reverb. Very ugly but sounds nice!

I use a novation bass station rack with my cs-30. Works really well. If you combine this with a trigger in from for example a 707 you can make nice variations on 1 simple pattern on all 16th notes.

Was looking around for people who sold a lot of disco records and stumbled upon this one month old add. They wanted to sell it all at once but i gave it a try. Turned out it was the owner of a big club here in Belgium. Really nice old guy. There were about 3000 records. Dude left us in his warehouse unattented and said he would come back in three hours to see what we found. Came back with about 400 records at about 1 euro each. some stuff in there:

kerr - back at ya
fresh band - come back lover
omni - out of my hands
escape from new york on rollerball (twice!)
tj swan - and you know that
ff yellowhand - you want every night
sylvester - pver & over
tantra double album
azoto disco fizz lp and exalt exalt 12"
kasso lp, idris muhammad lp
original billy who 12"
boeing dance on the beat
some bizarre - don't be afraid on gold coloured vinyl
tons more of rap, boogie and disco and reggae 12"s, mostly us imports

Going back to clear out the 45's and the rest of the 12"... big_smile

a yamaha cs 30 on the fleamarket...for 50 euro's cool

I always thought these kind of things only happen in the US of A.

Except for a dx7 and a sk1 i never found anything decent on a flea market and i've done a lot of them over the years. Records on the other hand...
I sometimes dream about finding gear on flea markets. The night before finding the yamaha i had a dream about finding a 808. Maybe next week? Really strange...

no way!!  what planet is this on?

Planet Belgium! I got there pretty early (6:30 or so). I fear i'm all out of karma points now, i'll probably get hit by a bus tomorrow or something...

Check out echo audiofire 4. Sounds really good for that price!

Thanks Sneakthief, much obliged! I'll try that trick out sometime. cool

I suspect not, but maybe someone here knows a trick or a definitive answer?
Thanks!

i've used a very thin needle and put it flat on the surface of the record where the scratch is. Then you have to gently apply some force and go against the direction the record spins in. You lose some sound quality but it doesn't skip anymore or 'tics'. Good luck!

holy fuck! where are these flea markets!?

Found this in Oedelem, West-Flanders Belgium. First time i found something like that on a fleamarket though. Haggled down from 100 euro's with the well-known 'the price is too high, i'll just walk away disinterested' trick.... tongue .

dx7 on the fleamarket for 50 euros.  smile

Some new stuff:
a kiwitechnics patch editor (works great for anyone who's wondering)
an allen & heath 16 channel mixer from the late eighties i think (real cheap, but really dirty when i bought it)
a vorg echo orbit tape echo (never heard of this before)
and a tascam portastudio 244. The studio and record room is almost done in the house  smile

How is the feel of the patch editor?? It looks a bit brittle to me.

It's definitely not super sturdy as some high-end stuf but better then most midi controllers. Knobs and faders are not top quality but not bad either. I must say that it feels better then it looks on pictures. Only thing that bothered me a bit was the quality of the letters on the metal casing (looks a bit cheap). The interface and the way the synths respond to it are great. All in all i'm a happy consumer  wink
