Topic: Albion Track IDs

Just been delving deep into Albion's mixes, they are really mind-blowing. Unfortunately, I am lucky if I recognize two songs from a mix, the music is so obscure. I am amazed that there are so many great records hiding out there that have hardly seen the light of day.

So... can anyone help identify any of these songs?
Perhaps Albion himself can be persuaded to give a hint?
Anyone?

The first one I'd like to know is this fantastic noodly synth jam:
Astronomix II

Re: Albion Track IDs

Here's another one, a fast, tense, pounding one with some radio communication in the background.

Astronomix VII

Re: Albion Track IDs

wondering about the second track of Astronomix X.
any idea?

Re: Albion Track IDs

the one from VII is from Grand Prix - Mach I LP,
X is Nadia Cassini - Close Encounters LP.

@Gabe: I'll mail you the last one, don't remember now.

His excited eyes from within the dark interior glazed;
watered in appreciation of his thoughtful preparation.

Re: Albion Track IDs

Awesome, thanks Albion!
Listening to Mixtura 1,2,3 today.
Will have some more questions for sure.

Re: Albion Track IDs

Whoa, Grand Prix has one of the guys from Soraya, Dogs of War, and Charlie Mike Sierra (which also had Frederic Mercier in it), and another from Venus Gang. That's some pedigree there.

Re: Albion Track IDs

i often listen to Astronomix IX - what a delightful mix. I am charmed by it's special organic harmony with which the music is presented.

i periodically try to find 2 tracks from it: one is at 24:00 - 27:00 time and another one is last but one (52:00 - 57:00). 1st is a discowith vocoder singing something like "i live in void, i'm humanoid", synth and even may be guitares - it's a pity i can't compare withanything.  2nd track is disco with slight italo feeling, soft guitaresan synthy rhythm.

i would be happy to know what are these tracks.

Perhaps, but I don't understand why - Count me in!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
All of my base,

Re: Albion Track IDs

just listened to IX for first time, very nice, even with killer boney M track smile one of my all time disco records

@ddrthe the first one your looking for its 'warlords - alpha and omega', dunno the other one though but im sure its a cover of something that is not coming to mind yet

Re: Albion Track IDs

From a fairly recent albion mix, amazing halloween party fun.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYyT6jHQfBE

According to the internet there's no soundtrack to the film on vinyl ( tho there may well be one )....maybe the track came out with a completely different title??

Either way...Albion, i am a big fan!!

Re: Albion Track IDs

I've been wearing out Mixtura 5, 6 and 7... They all have such great moments.
I think Mixtura 5 is my favorite because of Rock Me Dracula and the song immediately after it which slays me every time.
Anyone know what it is?

Re: Albion Track IDs

Anyone know the song after Rock Me Dracula? It has a Bee-Gees-esque falsetto, dramatic stoner guitars...
Super blow-up chorus, lyrics are something like "You gotta change / Gotta change / Your life / Cause I'm tired of the talking you do"

Also would like to know the last song on Mixtura 6, Starts somewhere around 55:20. It's also on Loudefying Live, somewhere in the middle.
"Took you out last night / I spent all of my bread"
"Hey, good lovin... Hey, good lovin..."
Killer compressed wah-wah guitars...
Sound familiar?

Thanks hysteric!!

Re: Albion Track IDs

Just got the Mokka record in the mail. Was expecting crap on the A-side, "Everybody's a Solo Dancer", but it was surprisingly good! Pretty heavy dancefloor disco, totally different from "Rock Me Dracula". Reminds me of "French Boy" for some reason. It's worth buying.

How about this subtle eurodisco slammer?

Re: Albion Track IDs

Hi Gabe

That last one sounds like Cleveland Eaton "Bama Boogie Woogie." Not hard to find I think.

Re: Albion Track IDs

Hi guys,

I got my own Ablion ID- I've heard it twice.  Once on the nearly 6 hour mix for Disco Exota (starts 2:54.30 in) and once on his mix For Ambassador's Reception (29:30 into it).  Its got pretty some kind of 'electric violin' and the only lyrics are (to the best of my ability) 'free love' and 'sweet love.'  Any ideas?  I heard it was maybe Mario Renzi, but that clue led me nowhere....
