Some time ago I asked Donato to compile the “Rome” edition of the 200th podcast for electronique.it. He enthusiastically accepted the invitation immediately:
"I was one of the first people to do a podcast for you, of course I will do another one for your tenth anniversary!"
When accepting this offer he hadn’t realized how much trouble he was getting himself into… Quickly his enthusiasm began to fade when he understood how big this challenge was.
He made a few attempts to propose other ideas for the mix, but he could not persuade me. I knew what he had to do.
With no alternatives he focused again on the original plan, he was now determined to complete the difficult task he had taken on.
His response to this challenge is a techno mix that I can best describe as an intense, intimate and evocative portrait of the reality that is Rome. While drawing on a wide range of source material and inspiration from the past, he constructs a deeply personal mix that is directed towards the future. It is, in a word, epic!
