Topic: How to clean mixing console?

Hey there,

some channels of my mixer are a bit noisy, as you can see in this video where I play the same sound on two different channels:

after turning a few knobs, I found out that it seems to be the PAN knob of that channel which causes this problem, because if I turn it, the crackling noise changes and when I leave it in the center position again and then play the sound again, the noise is different from before.

How can this be cleaned? Do I have to take everything apart or is it possible to do something without disassembling?

Re: How to clean mixing console?

Rotate the pan knob back and forth 100 times. Please don't use any spray! If the carbon tracks inside the potentiometer are worn out or if the potentiometer case is loose, then you need to replace it... If it bothers you too much.
