Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Roland JX-10 with PG-800 programmer, three memory cards and a road case for really nice price.

Was gonna sell my Casio CZ-5000 to make up some of the shortfall but I can't. Makes too many crazy weird digital sounds. Have nothing else like it in my rig.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

just got a poly800 for dirt cheap...liking it so far, has a slightly humorous sound to it...although i fear the sequencer is busted, grr...

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

DId you put the sync to internal?

Poly 800 = Elektroids

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Finding a Poly800 MkII with manuals, bag and stand at a garage sale for $20 six months ago started me down this slippery slope. Love that synth. When you really get in there you can make magic. And as a bonus I use it as a MIDI controller for my Waldorf Q Rack.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Nice!  $20 for a mkII is a good thing.

I've been watching old episodes of Tales from the Darkside and I'm almost certain I'm hearing some eerie Poly800 strings and stuff in the background.

Also there are some switches on the back of the synth you have to put in the right mode before you can use the sequencer.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Got myself a pair of Quiklok BS-300s for my Genelec 1029A monitors...and about time too - EUR72 from Thomann, and delivered in 2 days unbelieveably enough. Last time it took them 6 weeks when Thomann found that they mistakenly sent my mate's ribbon monitors to Mauritus instead of Malta!

yeah, im sure thats what wrong...i only spent about 5-10 min w/ it yesterday...took a look at the manual this afternoon...
thinking of trying to pick up a poly 61 at some point - anyone have any opinions on them? they have a trigger input, right?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

i love my poly61m, i prefer it to my polysix for basslines. they've got a arp trig in, but i think it's s-trig. i tend to use it via midi 'cos the keyboard is a bit rubbish. I've tried that rubber keypad repair stuff on them, but they've always gone the same way after a while.

whenever i play it reminds me of al-naafiysh....

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

hmmm...s-trig wouldn't be so useful for me...a friend of mine uses his 707 to trgger his, i thought? but maybe im wrong...

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

i think it'll still trigger, it'll be just be slightly off. I've got a 707 myself but never tried it.

Just had a go with a 606 and proved that it does trigger but seemingly slightly late.

To get round it you could shift it forwards in your sequencer once you've recorded the arp line in, or you could build one of those v-trig to s-trig cables using a transistor and a diode, there's schematics on the web somewhere.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

That thing is great, you can reverse stuff with it, really cool for behind drummachines just hit it and the beat will reverse and pitchshift too if you want.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

really? a pitch shifter/ harmonizer that also reverses? sounds interesting..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

yeah can't wait to try it when i get back home, it also has an "intelligent" harmonizing mode that  modulates intervals so that playback follows a melody in a pre-defined scale or/and key

the reverse kinda effect Smackos mentionned is surely the "Flutter" FX mode...
an optional pedal can be hook up for live expression/modulation as well ..and it's stereo

BOSS slicer pedal definitely comes in next (it has a midiclock input)
