Re: your last purchases of records

I got my one year long dream awaiting me..

Basic "Face In The Night" as heard on Gabbo's Radio Style mix. Duh!

A present from my boyfriend. Who is the best, obvs.

The song is a dream come true, as well.

And the best part is that it came in an Italian pizza box.

Strange record, isn't it? Has a bit John Carpenter-like atmosphere. It should belong to the "geleichnamigen film" but can't find anything about this movie (on google).

Re: your last purchases of records

no vinyl this time, but 1200 plastic sleeves.. i bought them from roberto in rome, and these are the best sleeves i ever saw.. super clear, shiny, extremely thin and strong, so much better than those crappy plastic bags that are way too big and thick, or the old ones i used to buy here in holland that fit well but are so thick they take up a lot of room.. i've never seen these sleeves for sale anywhere else..

Re: your last purchases of records

new Petit Enfants: Nosztalgia Direktiva and Adolf Filter. Niiiicey!

this calls for some photographic evidence...

I am still in need of plastic sleeves that have the same size as a 12" sleeve.
not the bigger ones that can carry a 12" sleeve.

Re: your last purchases of records

hey Ruud, can you please post or mail the contact of that guy, I'm in need of plastic sleeve too, and was looking for the best deal...

Re: your last purchases of records

okay, i got these from roberto, who always used to be at the record fairs with the italo stand. he also has an ebay shop:
http://stores.ebay.nl/COLISEUM-RECORDS. you can also contact him from there. he told me he gets them from a dealer in rome.. so maybe there are other places where you can get these. i'd love to know.. only time i ever saw them was at record fairs, but then they have a plastic glue strip on the back and are used to seal records tight in against dust, i suppose..

evidence:

here's the record in the sleeve:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~rude66/images/platenhoezen/1.jpg

here's the sleeve itself. actually the new ones i'm getting are a bit tighter still, apparently they don't fit over thick album covers. these ones are a little bigger than the sleeve, but they stay on perfectly and don't come apart from the record cover when you take it out or put it back into wherever you store them:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~rude66/images/platenhoezen/2.jpg

this is what i truly love about them: i can read the back of the covers again!
http://www.xs4all.nl/~rude66/images/platenhoezen/3.jpg

as opposed to this, which were my normal covers. they are thicker, and have the seal part on the back, which makes it one unrecognizable mess when you records are in any kind of dj furniture like the well known ikea thing i have..

After a long search for movies called Disco Death...I found out it's from the German movie: Loft - Die neue Saat der Gewalt. Would like to see that one!

worth mentioned are the 2 versions on the b-side, kind of electroey (in a Capataz/din dada way)
which earned this an entry in the Freddy Fresh book

'Sing while you may - lullabies for the new dark ages'

Re: your last purchases of records

Funkhawks http://www.discogs.com/release/476117

Re: your last purchases of records

Dance Trance 12" It takes two (more UK DIY synth pop)
Robotron 6 12" Cyborg 203 (aka genius John Davis!!)
Phuture 12" We are Phuture (who needs a ZYX pressing - only me probably, if it has a picture cover ;-)

@e,r  the two versions on side b are definetely the ones which should be mentioned, that's why I bought it, it is really a sound ahead of its time and the German vocals give it a very special feeling.
