Topic: Strange business in the Italo world

Anyone else noticed the activities of "Italoheaven" ?

Bids very high on in-demand Italo maxis on ebay, the sole purpose of which seems to be re-selling them on discogs:

from here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? … 0098451076

to here: http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?releas … &ev=rp roll

I have no problem with finding something for cheap and re-selling it (or if you buy something and can't really afford to keep it and/or change your mind about it), but this guy is beyond a joke.

What do you guys think about it???

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

You think that's bad?  Check this one out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … 0296622788  - won on eBay for $15.00 USD

http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?releas … &ev=rp  - selling on Discogs for 65.00 Euro

LOL

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

well well well.

is him the same guy on this store too? europeandancestore.com
funny because a guy on facebook (george pitsillides, from cyprus) is going on saying: TRY THIS !!! AMAZING STORE !!! and prices are different from there to discogs... I'm confused

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

Also, the point of those 1st 2 examples was such a "low" profit margin (and unlikely to re-sell).

hmmm a box of records intended for me was mistakenly sent to another George... I wonder if it's this guy, I hope not!!

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

now he's what I call a business man !

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

very specific kind of having business...but hey, each man to his own! smile
but one thing is sure: its always the same person..
italodiscoheaven on ebay is italoheaven on discogs and he is the master of
europeandancestore.com...hehe...
George from Cyprus..

@ Jogi: I do agree with some of what you're saying..
everyone has the right to do their business their own way, but this guy is surely pissing off the very same people who might otherwise buy from him.
btw also same person as 'Jorge_Pits'?

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

But how good business is it if he cant get them sold at these ridiculous prices? Might just end up biting him in the ass in the end

"Luc-Ass deserves every flack he gets. In fact, I think he's getting off pretty easy. What he REALLY Deserves is to go broke and be forced to move into a dumpster behind Pizza Hut."

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

i think "it's capitalism in general to be criticized, not that its ranges are practiced." is a point of view which can generally be called as being justifiable.

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

I applaud the guy's wise marketing skills

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

He can do whatever he wants. Don't like it, don't buy it.

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

It's a strange italoworld. The internet let's us sometimes see how strange. Funny thing to see italoheaven's obvious activities of buying on ebay and reselling again on discogs or europeandancestore.com. I guess it's like you also knew that this was happening but could never prove that well. Well, here's some proof. smile
Been browsing through his shops and his prices aren't stranger than the next italoseller I think. He's even relatively cheap a few times...

"Are you loving?"

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

and of course there is nothing that prevents you from snapping up those italos from ebay yourself.. big_smile

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

Actually, I'd rather just bitch about it wink

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

another way to drive the prices up.

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

is he driving prices up, i don't believe so in the end.
maybe momentarily by paying so much for his items on ebay, but if he doesn't sell them in the end, it won't do anything to the prices, it'll just bankrupt him.
it's only a business if someone is ready to buy.

or maybe it's a money laundring scheme?

Re: Strange business in the Italo world

Where's the guy that rips it in flac for free? smile
