Topic: Discogs Submitters Newsletter - 24 November 2008

Dear Robots

Here is some news regarding submitting at Discogs.

The guideline update has just finished, and the new guidelines are now active.
Most of the work has been around adding more examples and trying to clarify
things. The full summary of the changes can be found at
http://www.discogs.com/help/forums/topic/175206

The most important area to be aware of is regarding Labels and Catalog Numbers:

* We are now allowing all versions of the catalog number to be entered into
the catalog number field (for example, ABC-001 and abc01 can both be entered now).

* Regarding labels, the guidelines have gone further to explain that major label
(and company) names should be entered into Discogs as they appear on the release
itself. These names should not be changed to "fit" unless it can be proven
(from an external and trusted source) that they are one and the same.

The full guidelines for this are at
http://www.discogs.com/help/submission- … abel_Names

Please remember to explain your submissions and updates in the submission notes.
This makes it so much easier for others to check and vote on your submission.
You can check on your submissions and reply to any questions at
http://www.discogs.com/submissions

You may also want to make sure that you have your "after activity on my submissions"
option set at http://www.discogs.com/users/notifications so you are alerted of
any comments or votes on your subs.

Many thanks,

Re: Discogs Submitters Newsletter - 24 November 2008

this is going to make such a mess

Re: Discogs Submitters Newsletter - 24 November 2008

the mess is already reality. it's just going to make it worse. as long as any nitwit can submit this won't change.

Re: Discogs Submitters Newsletter - 24 November 2008

i don't see many releases were actually submitters made big ,painful & awful shits.

i think ex-moderators were a real bunch of no-life sometimes honestly.

i submitted many many stuffs on the past & some didn't get accepted while they were submitted exactly same way than majority i submitted which were accepted.
& people cannot spend all their entire life in front of their cpu to please stupid hitler-nerds no-life discogs mods
