Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

mmm

nice question dolcevita
I will dig on it and see what comes out.

but:
the voice is not the one solange, he's a real guy who was singing and then began to read tarots on tv...
it has been described as 12" b sided, but the one who sell it claim 10" single sided and he's a producer, he was doing a lot of jazzy house but now into italo disco, so...

perhaps also flemming can enlighten us on it

Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

i checked the discogs discussion - seems to be serious ...

Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

hold on a second

when you click buy this record and see it in the marketplace, the seller comment says

Comments: 10" single-sided bootleg - your chance to own this italo-disco killer rarity.
bottin

and then go back to th release page it says

Format:     Vinyl, 12"
A         Robots Are Un-American (4:34)
B         Robots Are Un-American (Special D.J. Version) (6:08)  [2 sides]

and picture of individual sides looks like the same picture twice. the exact same hand, lol.

oops...

edit: ooh, I was slow writing this..

Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

listen to th esample if you can (try another browser)...does not really sound like 84 to me...
the title alone is silly enough to be suspicious...
what's up with the "special thanks to G. Fantuz" and the crediting of daniel francesconi, though?

Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

Fantastic song... doesn't matter to me when it was released.

If it's new, then a clever piece of promotion by these guys. One better than the Tickle youtube thing.

Not at all a sign of photoshopping. These are just JPEG artifacts. JPEG is encoded in 8x8 blocks (clearly visible here), and in blocks with sharp edges you tend to see high-frequency artifacts when the compression is high.

i thought exactly the same ...

but the most clear reason why this is a fake is the fact of label, name & sound:

1) as i said with this catalogue number they would have released it in another design
2) the name is too "fashionable" to be true (robots, solange ...) there is somebody trying to hop on the "italo electro wave etc..." bandwagon ...
3) clear production
4) at least if its real with all that "robot influences" the master itself (RBDJX) would have played it like hell smile

1) catalogue number mistakes are very common in italian productions from the 80's so that one is also not an clear sign of hoax

2) the names robots are un american is really fashionable, but solange exists for real. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXO7N6Nh … re=related

Re: SOLANGE - does this record really exists?

i know the fact with the catalogue number confusions ... but ART1045 is a late number - in this times the strategy was clear and the label design already changed to pink.... and i dont think that ILDISC8 would have released in that period such a track which is more in the early style (GAY CAT PARK) - 1984 the changed to mainstream productions (Paul Sharada, Raggio De Luna etc) ...
