Topic: Mpc4000

Anyone here with an MPC4000, no? Just got an offer to trade my 2500 for a 4000 with output expansion. I'm very inclined to do so atm, but perhaps I shouldn't act before thinking it over.

Bigger AND uglier, yes. smile But I already agreed to do the trade, so we'll see. I first and foremost want a stable MIDI-sequencer (been frustrated by fucked up MIDI-timing for years). The z-series sampler will be a nice bonus. smile It also has some sort of analogue sequencer-functionality with the sliders going on...

Re: Mpc4000

the functions of the 4000 look good.  but sometimes even capable machines are crippled by their looks

Re: Mpc4000

I get the feeling ive heard it's buggy? might be worth looking up

CRACKED BY MR. Z...

Re: Mpc4000

Yeah... I haven't made as much research as I should, but I've also heard about bugs. I think the latest OS is OK with that though.

Re: Mpc4000

It was very buggy up to 2-3 years after its release. Akai is a shady company that has bugs in most their older gear, but the 4000 with the latest OS (1.71) is very stable and I never noticed any bugs with it. It has a dope sequencer so congrats on your trade.
