We got a V40 too, but from 2000, bought it in 2003. It's a great car, we have had no trouble with ours at all so I think you'll enjoy it for a long time smile

Re: Does this count as "new gear"? :D

Volvos are the best. We had a crash in 2004 (i guess) with a V70 P26 (TypeS 2002) 240PS - driving with over 100km/h (within a locality) unbreaked right into a curve, into a graben and then overturned, then slided at least 10m on the roof.... barely beside a tree! Fortunately nothing happened to us. The car - total loss. The driver said there was a deer, but i haven't seen a deer. The luck was on our side. If there weren't the graben, we would have flown right into a familiy house.... that was a shock for my whole life. Right after that I decided to make my own drivers license, so that i never have to ride again with those freaks. That was a irresponsible hellride!

@alex, that was a joke, BMWs are cool as hell, but I love the old ones more... (classic design scheme)

drive carefully, but I guess you're old enough to make no shit wink

Re: Does this count as "new gear"? :D

@automatique
I love the old E30 as well (got "infected" by DJX some years ago...), but in this very moment I needed a second car
to use as well every day and I wanted to be as new as possible - but I am planning to buy an M3 E30 in the future, more as a collector's items rather than something that has to fulfill needs... luckily here in Switzerland you can have more cars assigned to a single plate (and single insurance and single road tax), so that would make life easy smile

@heifetz
this is the classic 6-in-line BMW engine, the V shaped engine is only on the M3 and it's a V8.

@minimalrome
as much as I love BMW and their choice of colours, that red is like a punch in the eye tongue

Re: Does this count as "new gear"? :D

@rarara

I usually buy carbon offset for around 5000 euros every year.

Re: Does this count as "new gear"? :D

@fotoplastikon: hey cool man, another vw bus owner! welcome to the club.. big_smile
is that still an air cooled one?

@rarara: no, i don't.. that kind of stuff is a load of nonsense as far as i'm concerned.. especially when used by governments to tax you or get you to buy new stuff, or by environmental organisations to work on your guilt and donate cash to them..
