my echo tape loop is up for renewal so i'm curious to see if someone has a source. it's been suggested the tape should be lubricated to minimize head wear. the current tape is heavy on the wobble and has a very evident splice...

You should buy a new tape... don't know where though I think they are getting scarce

i don't want to get an original replacement tape as they are 20+ old. so something newer spliced from suitable 1/4" is what i'm after....
it's for roland space echo. the tape looks about 1m to me.
