Monkey see, monkey do.

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

"One can only conclude that smiling isn't allowed in the world of electro either"

ahaha, the guy has something right anyway.

who is sylar and why would IG make him cry ?

Sylar is the bad guy in the tv-serie "Heroes"

Dancin' for freaks and fame!

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

lol @ the comments on the blog.....Stinki is not impressed, smile

Let's get Dumb

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

yes i got that, but this guy use that reference about Sylar if it was supposed to ring a bell to everybody, putting his image as illustration of the article (i hope Sylar won't become the unconscious image association with IFM for lot of people...), and the fact John should make him cry is still a mistery for me, so if someone get it (so apparently has to watch Heroes, which seems something obvious and normal for the author), please explain

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

reads to me like this guy was bored of regular radio (!) searched online, found IFM, and really thought, wow this seems great, i'll write an article. he not writing definitive history of electro, he just describing to people who almost certainly got no clue who vcs2600 and legowelt and vunk are, who gives a shit how he explains them, hardly is offensive...
and what neo liberal bullshit, really pathetic to get arsey about an article like this.
its written for people who dont know who any of these guys are, like he says, "i didnt even know holland had a westcoast". hes not writing an encyclopedia entry.
its a quick bitesize article showcasing alternatives to fm radio, IFM is the only one he mentions, and it's got to sound exciting to someone who never heard of it before, right?
what harm is there from this article?

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

"old-skool and new-skool techno" links to Dickie Smabers & The Moerwijk Crew
Who ever have thought someone would link to that page. big_smile

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

Black Shape - Theres nothing Neo Liberal about it.
Every time The Guardian could do well by writing a decent piece on music, a lot of it ends up a cringe fest no matter what way you look at it *purist or not*.

Suppose it is only a blog and I shouldn't be shiting my knickers over it, but I'm just fed up with The Guardian journalists.
Surely a Cosmic one is over due.

Re: IFM reported in the Guardian

yes but guardian is not a music publication
also i was asking woody aki why it was neo liberal bullshit, as he is the only one who can detect it, what is it.
sounds like he just talking shit for the sake of it
