Re: Our Internets is in danger!

just got a mail from Lena Ek from the swedish center party, she told me that she will vote for amandment 138 and that she's trying to get as many in strasbourg to vote for it (and then went on with a lot of political mombo jumbo i did not understand). but she also said that it doesnt look too good, she thinks there will NOT be a majority vote for the 138...

robocop world here we come..?

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

too many anti democratic forces on full assualt on our political systems right now. we are seeing 30's all over again

doesnt look good at all to me

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

It's ugly. But according to one MEP I mailed majority of the parliament is for the 138/46 (that guarantees rights for us.)

Monkey see, monkey do.

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

why do yall think they are doing this? seriously? I estimate if they do it to yall we arent too far behind. however thats where us right wing gun lovers come into play. Right now our current administration is dreaming up inventive ways to try and take our guns away from us. They wont succeed.

man thats fucked up about the internet censoring, it hasn't gotten that bad here yet.

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

i think we should be more concerned about what the internet is doing to us.  check out these headlines:

Obama can't be just 'un-Bush'

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

Question send yesterday. An penultimate option is the grid or the resurrection of the internetworks. Shall we share our ftp-server adresses? :-)
My suggestion is that this time we skip the wires all together.

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

they wanna stay in control by taking down the internetz.

How many voters does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. Voters can't change anything

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

we have to try. europe is turning into something hitler could only dream about.

we have to get a monitor system up on how the 15000 full time big corporation lobbyist interact with our politicians. which lobby organisation is behind each law and how our politicians vote etc. this way people will understand who works for who and if a politician stays true to his election promisies or not and if he is just a corporate lackey in disguise.

today it is the lobbyists that run the EU parlament. we only get to pick the people that go there then the lobbyists take over. we have to pick people that can tell the lobbyists to go fuck themselves. this way we will be in control.

then we will have something that resembles a democracy

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

we are living in the united states of europe and the same shit goes down in bryssels as in washington.
the whole world is just a big fucking plutocracy. but it is just called a democracy because it sounds so much better.

Re: Our Internets is in danger!

there is no way to stop these things imo. What has the power is the money, not politicians and surely not the people. Democracy has turned into a bad joke!
But I don't believe that censorship thing will happen. I read in the papers today that most exports have criticised the concept and many politicians also don't agree with it.
