For those who can read latin, the language is familiar and elaborate at once, excellent latin.
Reading before : Alfred de Musset - Lorenzaccio

Some week ago I finished reading the international bestseller "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall.
It's not about Bruce Springsteen but about running.
As a runner, I found the book very interesting but I think it would attract also non-runners as it is very exciting and well written.
McDougall compares runners from different cultures and eras, focusing on the Mexican Tamahumara Indians (who are outstanding Ultra distance runners) in relation to Western runners, both physically and spiritually.
He also deals with the discussion about running shoes - is there a connection between the thick modern shoes and the high rate of running injuries? The recent barefoot/minimalistic trend among runners may have started earlier but certainly got fuelled by this book.
McDougall connects these different subjects by telling a thrilling story including a challenging race between some of the world's best runners in the wilderness of Mexico.
It's the kind of book you cannot stop reading. Rumours say there will also be a film based on the book.

Which one is that Ray? I really liked The Elementary Particles (Atomized) and Platform.
Which one is that Ray? I really liked The Elementary Particles (Atomized) and Platform.
It's his first novel, 'Extension du domaine de la lutte', apparently translated in English as 'Whatever'. I'm also curious about this one. Loved 'Lanzarote' and 'Elementary Particles'.
I'm currently re-reading Hermann Hesse's 'Siddharta'. Good for putting things in perspective.
It's indeed that one, I really love it so far, haven't finished it yet. The Elementary Particles is also on my shelve, that's the next one. I've read a bit too much non-fiction lately so it's fun to read books like that now. I would really like to read his poetry but it's practically unobtainable here in Belgium, I've already searched for it in every book store the last two years.
