...though much of the second album misfires like bad theatre musical toxic spew...
I like environ a lot but never really got into Kelley Polar--perhaps I should give it another whirl.
first album was the bomb the second def. got a over-harmonized-musical-feeling to it. i am must say i was a little disappointed.
strange, I like the new album very much, way better than the first imo !
like here in the night. saw them live in rotterdam once and thought they were pretty good.
I've not bought anything by them recently, but I bought all the old stuff at the time (about 4 years ago??). I had a listen to the 12" they had out recently, and whilst I thought it was good, I never ended up buiying it.
I quite like the 2nd album... more then the first album... but I heard almost all of the material live before hearing the album... so for sure that influenced me. I will try and wrap up my review for http://moodmat.com and post it... when it's up, I'll bump the thread. it will talk about the "theatre" element to the album....

ps: lots of KP and environ stuff in this mix -->Metropolis enjoy!
never saw them live, but it looks to be very incredible if I believe your says ;-)
I liked the first 2 kelley polars the most (especially the first)
Love Songs Of The Hanging Gardens was also very good ....
but the new one is not reallly my thing .... maybe 1 or 2 songs that are on it ....
sea of sine waves....
for me he hasn't still done anything better than "anvyl pulse"
I reckon "here in the night" is a winner
Got that Hanging garden vinyl, but it doesnt make it to a recordplayer more than once a year even tough I know should find it nice to listen to (and I do, once a year...) After that
NYC heads up...

Big Kelley Polar fan over here. Loved his first album (some amazing songs on there), bought the second one without listening but don't think I prefer it to the 1st one (although -once again- some songs on it are absolutely magical).
For other KP fans: there's an exclusive track on the D. Bowie covers album on Raster Records (compilation called "Life Beyond Bowie"). It's a good track (cover of Magic Dance), but he has done better.
Environ is a great label (Metro Area!), I love the quality of the production, not many labels still go this far. I'm really looking forward to the Morgan Geist album...
