yep... not surprised at all.
You know what would be (not) funny is if Qaddafi became like the new bin Laden after years of close relationships with the West. Of course he was a major terrorist back in the day (which makes it all the more ridiculous) so I think it could be possible.
if we make it that far

Troy Davis is being executed right now... I don't really know how I feel about this as I am a moderate, but I am leaning towards this being a miscarriage of justice and I may regret not protesting this evening.
Good fuck, the american coverage of the wall street protests is atrocious. It was better when they weren't covering it at all! Apparently, the cops were right to fuck 'em up because they're young, naive, disorganized, smell bad, smoke pot, don't wear bras and are prone to jay-walking. Not that this is surprising of course, but fuck... these are all qualities that describe me pretty well - I hope I'm not an anarchist agitator without realizing it!
edit - I only occasionally smell bad.
so that wasn't pepper spray, it was deodorant?
at least american media is covering it. What protest?

The protest is about the power of money in America's whatever-democracy. It's going for a sort of Arab Spring/Euroids in Austerity sort of vibe. The 'official' name of it is "Occupy Wall Street".
Good ol' firehose - that's some old-school chit.
thanks.

"Yes, as so many journalists seem obligated to point out, kids are criticizing corporate America while tweeting through their iPhones. The simplistic critique is that if someone is upset about corporate excess, he is supposed to abandon all connection with any corporate product"
