Well, the lead chord is the same, but the rhythm is not, so it's very probably just a coincidence.
Because all deep techno sounds like that wink And it's also a very used chord.

Not that i don't like deep/minimal tech tough, but it's just a fact that techno sounds very often quite homogenic.
It's the small differences that count, and in this case i think Brikha did it better.

A friend gave me a recent Tiga CD. It was a present, so I was like "Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa. Thanks". Anyway, I think it sounds a lot like an old Beta Band track.

Music is a beautiful opiate, if you don't take it too seriously.

Re: Thanx for fucking up another classic

Every time I hear or see that Tiga phenomenon on TV I'm feeling this unexplainable drift to stab people with a rusty knife. No idea where that comes from.

Re: Thanx for fucking up another classic

I was ready to hate on this, but I think their cover of Sharevari is quite ok:

This isn't just another "indie hipster" band; they're from Detroit and have appeared on Moodymann's label. I like their cover of Sharevari.

Honey, in the morning the bees are singing and the birds are stinging in an open head surgery.

Re: Thanx for fucking up another classic

ok, they did appear on Mahogani but this fact does not save this very album. the concept is whack and execution is weak. I just downloaded it after hearing the clips and posting that comment hoping I could be proven wrong, and I'm totally not.

Re: Thanx for fucking up another classic

I think they did en entire album of electro covers. Model 500 and so on.

Re: Thanx for fucking up another classic

Mike Collins from The Dirtbombs (and The Gories) is a fucking legend. Detroit garagerock at its finest. New album 'Party Store' is indeed reworking some of the Detroit techno classics. Indie hipsters? lol. Only Detroit guitargods seem to know how to threat Detroit techno. Most fun cover i've heard in a long time.

It just is..
