Re: London

nothing bad to say about the hostel but it is right in the middle of tourist central.
don't know what you plan on doing here so it might be ok for you. soho and chinatown are there too and i guess its not too far from the festival.

post some other places you are thinking of and then it might be easier to give you a better idea

Re: London

Ive got quite a few people asking me about hostels and hotels in London and I know fuck all.

Its all for the Magic Waves party in July.
this is what im thinking and need some recomendations from out of towners who have stayed in London:

I need hostels and hotels (cheap and cheerful) for the following scenarios...

If you wanna hang about in London, do loads of different shit, whilst visiting the festival,
West End (Soho, Victoria):

My mates who are asking for round where I stay,
East end (Bethnal Green, Shoreditch, Liverpool Street):

If your coming solely for the festival and sleep

Re: London

Hello guys!
I'll be arriving thursday evening for magic waves, and stay till tuesday -
I'm a total London n00b, so please tell me nice places to go apart from the big tourist atractions!
Nice bars, cafe's, shops for clothes and just cool places that the average tourist doesn't know.
Thanks, I'll be asking around at magic waves too of course big_smile

Re: London

make sure you go to the opening party on thursday evening. its posted somewhere on the forum, venue is Old Blue Last, its on Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch. It should be a good opportunity to orientate yourself with the city.
i look like my avatar so you can't miss me

Re: London

Right.

Im moving house. soonish and need someone to move into our flat. Its a two double bedroom warehouse conversion. Lovely. Situated in Whitechapel, big rooms, secure entry, red brick shit.

If anyone of you guys in London is either moving or knows someone who would like to move into this wonderful place. Please let me know.

We are trying to move out before the contract is up. hence all the shite.

Re: London

What's the rent?

Re: London

1515 per month. thats for the whole place, not just a room... that would be ridiculous.

Re: London

That's a great price for that flat and location--I've seen a lot less for a lot more.

Re: London

totally. We are gutted to be moving, but babies come first.

Re: London

they are all still good but add in:

sister ray - Broadwick street - okay but if your on the street anyway you may as well pop in
reckless records - broadwick street - good selection of cheap second hand stuff
phonica records - poland street - these guys are pricks don't go. sorry, but the staff in here are just shit. decent selection though.

if you cant make it friday night, hit me up and I'll join you for a pint somewhere.

Re: London

Re: London

I would ping jonny 5 an email about that. he's a bit more cultured than me wink

Re: London

There are a lot of markets, most of which have a decent mix of new (from crafts to shitty Chinese phone chargers) and secondhand stuff. This site has a good rundown of all the markets in town: http://www.londonmarkets.co.uk
