Topic: Edit & Effects Mixes like LATIN RASCALS, CHEP NUNEZ .. Who loves that?

For years now I totally love these edits and breaks of producers like THE LATIN RASCALS, CHEP NUNEZ and OMAR SANTANA.
They did loads of mixes, or at least added their edits to the mixes of mostly American dance and mainstream artists in the mid 80s (ALISHA, BRYAN FERRY, HALL & OATES and many more). The dub versions are great, as they consist of rhythm-based edits only from time to time.
Their timing to place these edits in an extended version was simply stunning and they enrichted the releases a lot with their post-productions.

Who else fell in love with these kind of sh*t?

Or who has any recommendation to discover more of this?

yup, great stuff, heavy basslines, super fast snare cuts...
used to play some of those edits years ago, maybe it's time to take them from the shelves again.
i don't even remember the names of those records...

Don't know how they're done, if they are playing their tape-edits from a reel to reel or if they are using turntables and sampler live, or what..

it's a lost art, i did it at the end of my round n round track but nowadays doesnt really count seeing how easy the computer made that shit/art

So easy now with some mouse doodling or just repeat/reverse/slowdown plug-ins.
and maybe also a funkyness plugin, of course...

Incomprehensible that this was done with a razorblade and some tape.

this is a bunch of sp12's though most likely, seeing how samples cut eachother by being outputed through one monochannel, damn good editsstill though
