Topic: Sound Banks, Sound Effects, etc.

looking for sound bank of ambient (fields, woods, etc.) and traffic.
i used to have hollywood edge library but the specific CD's are missing.
all the free soundbank sites i knew, stopped working or charging money, i would record my own ambient but i need a quick reference.

it would nice to know where do you get your sounds from?
to be more specific at the moment i'm looking for field sound and train (from 1930's)

Records here.  these are generally easy to find thrift store/cheap bin sound effects.  one side per 'enviroment', so you can just plop it on and leave it play while you noodle with other stuff.  as far as trains go, i have a record called 'ghost trains' that's all different types of old trains - maybe keep an eye out for that

some of the best rifle shots and machine guns as well as wind and trains..  i have yet to find the "Epouvante Insolite" one ( screaming women, Phantoms & witches laughs.. and general horror noises)

you could ask some hollywood production studio for some foley smile But I dont think they would reply.

I have the akai roms of some hollywood libraries llike Hollywood edge and stuff for cartoons etc, but that dont help you smile

i dloaded one of the environment albums and i't solved one big hole on the background
and found some trains which works ok.
