Topic: Worship a god that killed our friends?

145 people died because they went to a religous festival, if they are religous then it means god killed them(reason) or whatever. So if they didn't worship that god or followed whatever religion they wouldn't die, because at that moment they were practicing it

Humans are strange! Will they continue to believe in a god that got their friends killed?

Or did I get something wrong?

I'm happy worshiping our "dictator robot DJX" tongue

RIP!

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

Worshipping any god sucks!
Sticking to whatever religion is pretty lame imo.

This is what Homer says about the subject...

Bart: Dad, what religion are you?

Homer: [i]You know, the one with all the well-meaning rules that don

I say: keep denying god and god will smack you right upside the fucking head

oh yeah and where did 145 people die worshiping god?

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

religion is made by man to create order in the chaos. Which has proved itself to be a good thing untill the enlightenment a few centuries ago, Rousseau Montesquieu, Voltaire. Next phase please.

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

It's not because you believe in a God that you also believe that this God intervenes in life on earth.

Honey, in the morning the bees are singing and the birds are stinging in an open head surgery.

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

if god exists, i don't like him.

they thought there was about to be a heavy landslide as they were walking up to the temple, started running back down and broke through a metal barrier sending people flying down.

I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way

3-5L of water each day btw

That sounds very dangerous, you might get osmotic

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

Dinners or parties where people launch large debates and discussions about politics and/or religions are not often going to end the alright way.
In an internet forum, it's generally worse again...

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

what is this naive way of god made it happen? Sort of common knowledge on greek gods and goddesses interventions on human affair. God has nothing to do with any earth events. There is no catastrophe as god punishment, no sodoma nor gomorra, neither the seven plague. Every agnostic should know that, every serious believer knows that already. God is a complete different matter, and a tricky one.

This is child talk.

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

isnt it sillier to imagine a creator who existed out of nothing than to believe there is no creator

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

@ most complicated robot. OK, i have a similar view concerning "God" and religion. I trust more science than any God. This is an enlightened world view. But not all people have such a good access to education like us. In what should the (poor) people believe if they don't  know it better?
They ask themselves Who makes the rain, or gives us a good harvest? its GOD/ALLAH or the whatever named guy

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

I still find Nick Bostroms simulation (matrix) theory most "believable". Of course, in the end it leads to the same question in the very end, but as a hands on belief system it can make sense of many crazy and strange things in the world.

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

science is worse because its a human creation (ie flawed)

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

what about maths? and what is science worse than?

Re: Worship a god that killed our friends?

you think the universe follows mathematical laws or we do our best to describe the universe using mathematics?  science is just as bad as religion; in the end it is used to manipulate people with technology.
