Re: x0xb0x firmware

You need a windows computer and the c0ontr0l software: http://www.ladyada.net/make/x0xb0x/software/index.html

It can be done with a mac, but it looked to difficult to me. Btw, if you have one from Touched by Sound or ModeMachines, it's possible that there is no bootload present on your xoxbox. If that's the case, you'll need a new processor.

thanks Brian,
it looked difficult on mac, i'll do it on windows.

what about the patterns, i read the patterns are safe while uploading new firmware, should i trust it or should i backup my patterns?

Re: x0xb0x firmware

Yes patterns are safe, they're stored somewhere else I believe. I did however loose patterns once when I made a eprom back-up, so I reckon it's not 100% fail proof. sokOs is vry much worth the hassle tho, if any. It makes the x0xb0x a perfect live companion.

Re: x0xb0x firmware

thanks again,
do i have to install other software beside the c0ontr0l software?
the PC is not recognize the x0x or the port (i'm sorry it's been a few years since i used windows)
