With them 30 years older most of the tittage will be hanging around their ankles like a bag of potatoes.
and being Irish, I think I'd quite like that.
B.t.w the company who published this book Black Dog Publishing also released other titles about music. That book about Krautrock looks interesting also:
http://blackdogonline.com/music/
I read here thats the book is "set to be released september 2011"
also:
"Italo-disco traces the genre’s transformation from what was a deceptively disparate scene at the time, to one that has now become a global cult phenomenon cherished by thousands. The ‘golden years’ of the genre—1983 and 1984—are explored, revealing the spread of the sound throughout Europe, resulting in notable hits in the UK for acts such as Baltimora, Spagna and Sabrina, the late 80s development of ‘Italo-House’, and the recent resurgence of popularity in the genre through groups and
club nights like La Roux and Cocadisco, amongst many others.
Italo-disco looks specifically at the political and social climate of Italy in the late 1970s and early 80s, and how this informed the style of the genre, with comparison to the US and UK pop imports of the time. Aspects such as the burgeoning north Italian fashion scene and growing record industry in the 1980s provide a detailed view of the cultural atmosphere the music was shaped by.
Italo-disco: A Secret History of Modern Pop features profiles on and interviews with many important artists and producers of the era including Fred Ventura, Amin Peck, Savage, Manlio Cangelli, Giorgio Spagna and Alexander Robotnick. It will also include entries on the history and releases of seminal labels such as Disco Magic, Crash, Memory and Sensation, with comprehensive discographies. The book is highly illustrated, with unseen archive and press photography, photographs from the artists’ own collections, memorabilia, sleeve artwork, and promotional posters."
Sounds good to me already!
i wonder if the prices from italo records go up again, after the release of this book
People who read books aren't stupid enough to buy expensive italo records.
The Kraut book they released is really brilliant! I'm sure this book will be great too. It's about time Italo Disco was accorded it's rightful place in pop culture history.

about the krautrock book : i don't understand why they used a kraftwerk pic
it's less kraut then abba..
i mean the term krautrock is always out of proportion .. kraftwerk aint no krautrock
@ kuczera
"i don't understand why they used a kraftwerk pic it's less kraut then abba.."
-> organisation and early kraftwerk is experimental rock made in germany (krautrock)...
but yeah, they should have used an earlier pic of kraftwerk.
seems using provocative cover photos is something they take pride in
xxploitative
the kraftwerk pic in that link is from the section on kraftwerk in the book.
the cover has nothing to do with kraftwerk.
@ ytz
"the cover has nothing to do with kraftwerk."
-> yeah, i guess it's a cosmic egg...
of course the first KRAFTWERK releases were Krautrock - just look at their haircuts ...
i don't know shit about music..
