Topic: soundcard help

my pc soundcard died on me, went and spent money for another creative soundblaster but i'm getting noises on my recording
tried to sort this out with the creative helpdesk for a while now, but its no good, the shop wont take it back cause it's over 6
weeks and i don't have the og packaging no more, creative want me to send it back to singapore,,, FT,,, anyhow wink

all i want is something to connect to my mixer, and record vinyl dj sets, so i can then burn this on disc and play in me car,,,
should i go for:

or

http://www.juno.co.uk/products/lexicon- … 397311-01/

or just this

http://www.juno.co.uk/products/m-audio- … 354108-01/

i'm not that great with computer technology, and i rather go for whatever will be easier to use w a reasonable sound, once installed, dont need a studio setup for this obviously,,, these 3 options seems to be the most popular,,, which should i go for?

Re: soundcard help

i'd go for the last one if its only for dj sets.. its th cheapest. i dont have good expereinces with lexicons, so for me that would be out.. but you do need a pci slot for the last card..

Re: soundcard help

All of them would be decent for your uses. Since you are using PC you need a soundcard with solid drivers, I think M-audio is ok in this regard, don't know about the lexicon. Btw. if you are running win7 check first that the soundcard works on it! I think the last one for example doesn't ..

Re: soundcard help

no I'm using win xp, and i do have an empty slot for anotha card, might just go the cheapest one then,,,

Re: soundcard help

I have the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 working in my PC for more than 5 years without first on XP and now for more than a year on Win7 64 without any problems.

Re: soundcard help

In the middle segment reviews, found on the internet, the focusrite saffire pro 40 scored quite good. From what i read the mic-amps deliver a clean signal. The Motu line is also quite popular in that range. The RME line is also worth considering, albeit rather expensive. For notebooks you can also consider hooking up a pcmcia card or expresscard. Example Echo Indigo. I've been using a m-audio card for a decade or so. With good support by the operating system and drivers M-audio delivers a semi-pro sound.

Re: soundcard help

i have the M-Audio Delta Audiophile 192 http://www.musik-produktiv.es/img-100016056l/grabacion-hardware-ordenador-tarjeta-de-sonido-m-audio-delta-audiophile-192.jpg
which is a little different from the 2496 but pretty much same line. My 192 has been reliable for a few years for what i make it do so i'd assume the 2496 is solid as well smile also the 2496 is cheaper than the 192.
