The sony looks nice. Do all you Sony-mixer-lovers ever miss having mid sweeps?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

The 3 band eq works pretty well.
I think they are the best bang for the buck compared to price/quality.
They were 20.000DM new.

After almost 5 years I had to upgrade my license for Renoise so I just did that, for 40 euro. Gonna check it out now, I'm very curious about the matrix features. Quite a big upgrade if you ask me, especially the pattern matrix feature is without a doubt The One Thing I wanted to have ever since I started out with Octamed. But the tone matrix seems cool too:

Personally I think they should have kept it how it was, simple and overlookable. Not using it these days anymore, but back then I rejected upgrading to higher than 1.5 after being puzzled and annoied with 1.8.

Macbook Pro 17" Intel duo core 2.66ghz, 4gig Ram, 350gb HD. Matte screen..

Pff.. old G4 Laptop took a turn for the worse and I have a gig booked for NYE. Going to be broke till the end of the next decade but I am really looking forward to getting my hands dirty with this.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

jomox 999 for $600 + elecribe + 15 bucks in bank overdrfaft fees.

Talk about the problems with upgrading analog gear by adding a million "features." It's like my 909 fucked my rs7000 and had a super strong autistic baby. Plus the manual was written by someone who probably has an upside down and backwards brain.

For me there was already a learning curve because I switched from Octamed to Renoise 1.5, so I had no other option but take it for what it was. I'm very satisfied with the features I'm offered, and as I hoped the Pattern Matrix makes composing a lot easier, you can just drag tracks to new patterns and see in one single view what's going on in each pattern. Pure bliss, altho I must now force myself to give my tracks logical names. I must admit that I hardly use Renoise for anything else but my very basic midi needs so I'm not very critical about the more fancy features.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I'm just starting to learn Renoise on the strength of that pattern matrix thingie and the promises of open-scripting for controlling with a Launchpad. Need to review hex tho.
