just sat and watched rififi.
beast of a classical french film, with an ultimate heist scene. no dialogue for about 25 minutes.

Stupid movie but still entertaining somehow, typical for a heist film I guess.
this isn't on that wiki list - 70s french flick about a bank robbery. i really enjoyed it. apparently there's an english version called the great riviera bank robbery - i haven't seen it but it's got that guy from lovejoy in - so it must be good.

sorry for the triple post, but i have to point out that when i heard that kubrick had done a heist movie as a young man i was very excited - this was a huge let-down. i have tried to get into it several times but just can't. and i watched barry bloody lyndon!

Each to their own i suppose. I think it's quite an accomplished film given the age of Kubrick at the time.
