better too many than too few prophet sounds
edit: spelling
Also got this today, for the price of a fancy stompbox!
Whoa nice! I have that Biamp spring reverb and I love it. It should compliment your Fostex nicely if you still have that. Have you had any time to check out that Ashly compressor? I've heard that the SC-55 is supposed to be quite good.
ronin wrote:update complete. the display is considerably duller (edit: fixed having found they added contrast control) but apart from that it's better in every way possible.

Can you also buy them like this new?
i'd recommend buying one second hand and doing the upgrade. try to get one with a serial number higher than 1680 to avoid a tricky soldering job.
@Roginator : I tried the reverb, it sounds great for what it is, but I hardly ever use anything else but my Fostex spring reverb, what do you use it with/for? I'm curious to know what mods you can do to a digital reverb too!
@Unicity, yeah the biamp is awesome, a great complement indeed, I also love the color I get just by using it dry.
The Sony eq I got is pretty cool too (mue-041), it's precise and sounds really good. Monopoly made me curious about Sony stuff, it seems their pro stuff from the 80s is underrated. That eq was apparently 800$ new.
The Ashly Sc-55 sounds good, it's useful to get a better signal into the computer, but with added noise, I'll see if I'll keep it in the chain.
edit : Fostex, not Tascam
Cool score Tony.
The mue-041 seems super rare.
Cool you bought it from verstaerker?

Yes indeed, he lives 10 minutes down the road from me! We ended up jamming in his studio for about three hours as he said his last goodbye to it. You don't get that with Ebay!
You'll fall in love with the Wavemultiplier soon.
It's the most deepest modular ever.
Such great use off each module.
You should register on quadslope to get lots off info.
Eckmiller passive faders x2 and some wierd audio transformators to experiment....
External SCSI PCMCIA drive for my MPC.
Ableton live 8 upgrade.
These last few months :
Roland TR-606
Roland MC-202
Roland M-12E
Roland SDE-1000
Yamaha REX-50
Yamaha MM-10
Casio VL-1
The REX50 is a fun little box. Just pulled mine out again.
Rex50 is really good. Too bad the volume knob on the back is so big, you have to be careful when packing the Rex50 for traveling.
Not my 'new booty', but I'm pretty exited about it anyway: I finally had the time to clean install my mac at my job and upgrade to Final Cut Studio 3 and Snow Leopard.
yeah the REX50 is a classic, I broke 2 of them that way...the volume knob is connected straight to the print circuit so when something goes wrong it chips a part of the circuit board straight of...but they're cheap.

Nice, would like to see the new final cut in action. Snow Leopard is not that much of an improvement, but it's ok.
ow and i got some hippy oilwheel pfx for in the studio
videoclip here + live elektro from the bombshelter
that's kool. looks these things are even still manufactured. never seen them outside 60's lsd orgy movies

Well Snow Leopard is indeed not exciting. I'm more excited about FCS, some of the new features are things I've been really yearning for, like the ripple markers and ProRess 444. And the background export will save me literally hours... But it's still a huge shame that there's no multicore support except for what you get (and already got in FCS2) with qmaster and compressor...
I got my new monitors today! Well, one is getting fixed so I'll be mono until then. They are Samson Resolv 65a.
AKAI LPK25, like it alot!.. The arpeggiator is a nice bonus
Get the f*cking sds4 you slacker!
