In Defense of Everyone:
I donated money and music (not my own music obviously). While I know the money goes to a good cause, Ferenc never played anything I sent him. But I never felt like he owed me anything other than what I was getting: great music and great discussions. That seemed fair enough. Not like I was a stockholder in CBS, Inc or something.
As for Prussell, he didn't say anything that wasn't true. His failing was in expecting something from his money than Ferenc had never promised. I know Ferenc reasonably well from moderating and doing graphics for a few years, he doesn't seem like the kind of person that would make a promise he couldn't keep -- Remember that is was "Enjoy it while it lasts", not "The CBS will go on forever". It seems natural that after a few years people would begin to form opinions and take sides, and to splinter themselves into smaller and smaller groups the same way music splinters into micro-genres, or plants and animals divide into sub-species. The hard part is remembering the similarities, and fighting the tendency to focus on the differences.
And Stinki I know he played your tracks because I remember thinking, "Wow, what is this?" and was surprised to see on the playlist that it was someone I know.

yes, yes, i know he played some of my tracks you fools. i have no sour grapes about the 80 or so he never played, my point was merely to dismiss the starry eyed nonsense about how open and utopian the CBS was towards music...That's kind of missing the fact that CBS had a unique and distinct personality, it wasn't for everybody, it was for us, and probably even moreson for F. Ferenc steered the ship and did it well, but don't go overboard one direction or the other, as Teep the prime minister sed it right

If people didn't think CBS had problems then they are like a person who doesn't question their own faith. Nothing's perfect and the CBS was like your edgy communist friend that talked so much about consumerism and used the word "bullshit" so often that you couldn't bring him around your other friends. But at least it increased awareness of live electronic music and allowed me to view hilarious pictures of cats.
And a lot of you guys helped me out with technical gear issues I was having. You can think whatever you want personally of Ferrence, but a community is who makes it up, not just who leads it. You guys are swell!
