I'm so sad because it's been a month since I haven't seen this lovely little furball in the park near my house...
She's so beautiful and friendly I'm sure somebody took her and I hope she's more in a more comfortable and warm place now. I still think the cat shelter in the park wasn't a bad place for her, she had everything she needed (there's a woman who takes care of cats there) and she could enjoy more freedom than in a home environment...

Re: Cats

@fizz  - great photo! never underestimate the cats all seeing eye.
@victor D - any news? some cats are happier with their freedom, we still see my cousins cat around on the streets, he was an island cat and just couldnt settle as a house cat, he left after many years at home too.

must get my cat up here, although he'll take up too much room.

Re: Cats

ahhhh I would love to have a cat right now... too bad I became allergic tongue
but when I was a kid, me and the lady living downstairs of my former house were sharing around 15 cats tongue

Oh well, right now I have a 2 years old independent son, so it's like having a cat. smile

Re: Cats

rip Telma... my parents lovely hedonist bitch got probably eaten by a lynx. theres also other four cats missing in their neighbourhood, one dog was attacked too. was strange to visit home when she was not craving for attention there all the time.

Re: Cats

My mother just adopt a abandonned cat who looks like exactly the same.

Re: Cats

he came from a shelter actually.

he's now about 1 year old, when we got him at first, he could probably fit inside the palm of my hand smile.

i had a totoise shell cat turn up at my house about a week or two ago, wailing outside in the cold and the snow, i thought she must be lost so gave her some food, then later at night when she was still around i let her into the kitchen, but being careful to not upset my other cats i kept her shut in there overnight. she was really affectionate and didnt seem too unhealthy, looks like she had been eating and stuff.
anyway when i took her to the vet to see if she was chipped they came back and said she is repoted dead since september, and that the owners had lived  15 miles away at the time, but subsequently moved about 1 mile from my house. at christmas.
at the time i just thought wtf why would you report it dead? surley you would hope it would come back. the vet rang the owner and they said they would collect it the next day, and she said she would let me know when the cat was collected, but i didnt rcieve a call. i have been a bit concerened since as i was thinking the cat was abandoned deliberately, then this morning i got a call from someone who lives close by and had seen the notice i put up, she said she saw the cat getting flung out a white van at christmas time right next to her house sad
i rang back the vet to see if the cat was collected or not, and thankfully, the owners rang back and said they didnt want it as it terrorized their son, thats bullshit as it was the fiendliest cat i ever met (but maybe thats as it was outside for 2 months!) crazy story. i hope the cat gets a nice home, i would have had her, but she freaked my other two out too much, they are very weird cats anyway.

Re: Cats

^ well at least she's safe!

i'm actually thinking about getting my own cat, but the wee guy in the pic that i posted above there is really quite insane, he would always be awake during the night and would make lots of noise and shit. i'm a light sleeper so that bothered me quite a bit.

in a way i was kinda glad when he left. are all young cats like that? i suppose i could get an older one that is more chilled but i think i'd prefer to see it grow up smile.

i think i'd probably get a female one this time if i was gonna.

Re: Cats

females in my experience are more vocal. but really depends on the cat itself. my two cats make me feel more like i annoy them rather than they annoy me, like you can stroke them, but only on their terms, and they dont want you picking them up or anything like that. now they are both nearly 14 years old, and the female of the two, has just started to sit on peoples laps on the sofa, and she was always the more neurotic of the two. they never kept me awake or anything like that, only stress from being at the vets and stuff, one time one of them came home with his stomach slit open and all his guts hanging out yikes

Re: Cats

Our Persian started to become really anoying at some point make noise all night long and sleeping or being chagrin during the day.

We had then him castrated at age about 1 1/2 and now he behaves like a 3 month old kitten with LOTS of energy, really fun to play with. And he sleeps at night like a good boy.

when my friend went on holiday recently i looked after the cat again. he quite liked to sleep in his little basket that they brought him in, so what i done was, i just tried to keep him entertained after i came in from work until i went to bed (otherwise he would just sit about sleeping if you didn't give him any attention), then when i was going to bed i just put him inside his wee basket (although i didn't close it so that he could wander around if he needed to), and he seemed to sleep for most of the night.

but whenever i'm staying at my mate's flat, he's a complete terror, always running around and jumping over things and stuff and waking you up when you're trying to sleep smile

edit - oh and btw, this cat got the snip pretty early on when he still stayed at mine smile
