3rd Dwele album, not as spectacularly good as the 2nd album, more soul less jazz, but still a great neo-soul album incl. the first non-corny dilla tribute track i heard.. that one (workin on it) is just sick..
People who love the Detroit house sound and are open to soul are well recommended to give Dwele a try.. I think you won't be disppointed.

i could never get too into dwele, alhough since you say more soul less jazz maybe i will like this one better. i've only liked a few tracks over the years; despite the dilla production, their albums have always been too consistently lowkey, too homogeneous for me...it's a great mood/feeling but for me i don't love it enough to hear it on every track...maybe i judged too quickly. should i give them a closer listen? they were pretty cool live at DEMF some years back..

The first album is just straight up soul, very okay but not superspecial.. I really like the 2nd one, because its so jazzy and also cause it has a ver continuous flow going.. almost like Marvin Gaye's I want you album.. The third one is more like inbetween the first two.. I like it a lot, but there isn't a stellar difference between this album and his other efforts.. So if you weren't into it then, you probably won't be into it now..

Re: your last purchases of records

Oasis 13 - One of Omar-s finest and there is many!!!

Population One - Unknown Black Shapes - Untensil -  I bought this in 94 and never really liked it, thought it was too lofi, basic and minimal sounding and sold it on. having picked it up again they are the reasons why i like it. funny how you hear things different as you get older!!

Terrence Dixon - Point Of View - Finest Blend - 14 years on from the above record and he's still on it! Lookin forward to his Frantic Flowers release.

Sleeparchive - Hadron ep - Sleepachive - Very hypnotic, really draws you in.

Suburban Knight - Predators Language - UR - Not sure how i missed this a while back though was quite limited. A pure example of why i still love techno.

Louis Guilliaume - Soulpoint 2 - SD - Apparently Mayday has been spinning the lead cut off this, no surprise really. Great 12'' great label.

Agua Regia - Pump Up The LED's To The Red Take Drugs And Shake Your Head - Irdial Disc - Been after this for time, then was given it for spending a wedge in a friends record shop!! Very unique acid track from 88.

Re: your last purchases of records

Two mixes (one by x-bobo, one by G-string) made me buy the following:
Magyka - I Know Magika (Time)

Private Class Featuring Valerie Krystal - So Special CD (Hot Production): made new entry on discogs http://www.discogs.com/release/1416486
Beaugeste - Le Damne (WEA)

Other:

Marzio - Vulcano (Maximus)
L.A. Message - Dear Or Alive (Baby)
Via Verdi - Diamond (Remix): 1euro
Strada - Strada LP (Durium)

I didn't give this record much attention at first but through the mix by x-bobo it suddenly hit me and had to buy it. It costed me 70$ which is about 40euro (excl. shipping). I see this as a long term investment, a record that will stay with me for years to come. wink

Re: your last purchases of records

close encounters by capuano mainly for the space disco version of the title track and the cover, most of it sounds
like hungover Santana on a bad day.
OST - Dressed To Kill knew i've seen them around before finaly got one, not often do i play a soundtrack of a film
i've seen so many years ago and yet can figure out which scene was the music from, great stuff
best one from last week was the last Enfant Terrible comp "festival der,,," quality all the way thru!
