@freek: okay, i have anough crap anyway.. big_smile

@brian: it ddoes. its the reason i have one non-tilter keyboard on my wall., and its my master keyboard. i was playing some stuff on the ds2 and 800dv the other day, and your hands cramp up in 2 minutes because of the weird position..

Nah, 20 euro's worth of stuff, I'll come up with another good use for them.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

CP-2 and CP-3 chipsets for my Kawai R-100. I heard the CP-2 was the one with the orchestra stab and technoy sounds.

Did I pay too much? Probably but I only paid 60 USD for my R-100 and have been looking for these for awhile.

Nice! Do you have the CHD midi installed already? I'm definitely keen to pick one of these up. Let us know how it is. Should be amazing. Also how tricky do you reckon the install would be? I'm definitely not handy at all.

no CHD midi installed... though the IO programmer board is meant to be able to work with CHD key matrix interface too (you might need a special software version though)

the IO key matrix board is about the same as the CHD one.. pop the connectors off, plug in the extra board, push connectors back on the new board.  Plus if you want more, it also has a 4 way connector that gives you control of the pitch bend, volume, filter, and portamento! - this feature needs the soldering of 3 points around the inside of the synth, and you do need to go into the service manual and work out what version boards you have for this... but basic electronics is all you need..

The programmer upgrade is very simple. pop off the original processor with a screwdriver, and push the programmer board into its place.

the 2 boards connect together with a single wiring loom, and then there's the MIDI in and out wiring, all supplied.

biggest stress for me in upgrading the JP4 with this kit was drilling two 16mm holes in the back for the 2 new MIDI ports. eeek!

An Ibanez BC9 Bi-mode chorus

Revox B77 MKII "high speed", What's a good price for this model, in good condition?

I got this surprisingly good sounding little synth and  replacement chips for an old model of Motu microlite which now runs flawlessly on winXP. Got Silent Way, that software which basically does the same things as motu volta but runs on win(and is ahem... much cheaper) an that works nicely too with the Teisco!
Hooray!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

always liked the looks of the Teisco synths, I love sliders on a synth.

Soundwise I cannot judge em, as I never had one.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

good catch on the r100 roms, they dont show up too often. i only have the industrial one, not the jazz, but i paid 10 euro for it..;-) what you really want is the switcher, so you can switch with a knob between roms rather than having to open the machine every time.

@tony: hi speed, 2 track? depends where you are and the condition of the machine. 400-600 euro is not uncommon for a super condition original or a restored one.. if youre lucky and want to gambl;e, anything between free and 300..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Thanks Rude,
I got it for around 100 euros so I guess I was lucky, I didn't know the market price, only the reputation.
It works fine, but the counter is broken, the on/off switch has the handle snapped off (but still works), it's also a little dirty.
I happen to live very close to "Le centre du magnétophone", I'll give them a call for a calibration at one point.

Noob question : I think my machine is half-track, but how do I verify this?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I bought an RE-201, finally!!

I had borrowed a friends for a few months a while back, and then last week he started talking about how he wanted to sell it. Not a bad deal - He got back what he paid a year and a half ago, and I got to trade in an A-frame keyboard stand I didn't really need any more to bring the cash price down a bit.
:-)

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Nice!

I have a Re-101 and a Korg Se-500, but I'm still lusting over a spring+tape echo, 201 would be my first pick.

heh heh.. those were the issues mine had. i replaced the counter, those lottle cogs inside break off easily. the switch is a known problem with the revoxes, with mine it was the right record switch.

if you have 2 or 4 track is easy to determine. record something, then reverse the tape (i.e. ffwd all the way, then flip the right reel over and load it on the left side of the recorder) if you hear what you recorded first buyt in reverse, you have a 2 track. if you can record something else and still keep the original recording, you have a 4 track.. 4 track is just like a cassette tape..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Picked up a Rockman x100 today... Got it pretty cheap but it has a problem with the input so the guy will refund my money og give me a reduction if its not easy to fix... Will not bullshit him tho, cos he was nice..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

hate to make everyone jealous but i just got a "broken" tr-606 off Craigslist for $50, acted weird but then i opened it up and after a while realized that the DIN was set to input. switched it and it works perfect. also included the manual, quick start guide, original foam (nox box) and original retro carry bag! got a cr-1604 with 2 broken channels for $50 while i was there. man, CL karma pays off sometimes!
