Re: Sofia

Sofia is a cool place but not so much disco or electro nights (almost none). maybe if you like drum n bass or progressive house or something.
but Bulgarians are open to anything so you might just get lucky there, once i went to Kid Koala on a complete accident, it was Wednesday and it was in a fancy club full of meatheads, so who knows...

i know of two records stores there, both near the center. one is mostly with commercial house and minimal records, nothing interesting. the other one is near the Military club, i forgot the name, it's in a basement and it's mainly a book store but they have good deal of records for sale, mostly the old ones. i scored some bulgarians pressings of disco, synthpop and some ebm.

food and drinks are very cheap!

Re: Sofia

thanks for the tips mekonin, looking forward to it!

Re: Sofia

@electricity
did you enjoy your stay here , wish i saw your post earlier..
mekonin is right the biggest scene here is the dnb, but there are some disco/electro parties in which im involved smile
any robots coming down here le me know to share you the good places !

Re: Sofia

Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria.Sofia is a compact city, and the hotels, restaurants and bars that will compete for your time are nearly all located within a tidily arranged city center. The city has a distinct European flavour with its broad boulevards and countless number of open-air watering holes. Shopping in Sofia is quite an experience. Shining shops offer design clothes, small antique shops ,private art galleries displaying icons, modern art and jewels, music shops and shops for traditional crafts feast the eyes. Most restaurants in Sofia serve European and Bulgarian cuisine.A visit to a tavern is a must. They entertain with folk music, songs and dances in addition to a menu of delicious typically Bulgarian dishes and choice drinks. Each night in Sofia is a thrilling experience. An option is a concert, opera or theater.Jazz and rock clubs or piano bars are also there.Disco fans will find Sofia discos as good as any in Europe.Night clubs have variety shows in the small hours.Casinos in Sofia don't close before dawn.

We must change in order to survive

Re: Sofia

fascinating! didnt know sofia was tidily arranged.

is there something to do in Varna btw? something down the lines of synthpop / electro  / disco / hell batcave even would be nice.

Re: Sofia

no chance to find synthpop/electro stuff in varna , mostly commercial house music in there...but although a very nice city indeed!

Re: Sofia

I wouldnt say its 'tidily arranged'  big_smile
I'd say its 'chaotically dirty'
Go to Varna, skip Sofia. Electro in Bulgaria doesnt exist...
Drum n bass arrived now LOL, crap house everywhere, even in
the doctors office, madness
