Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I got one of the new SEMs also, but the version with no midi (and extra CV/Gate patch points). Mine is serial #100!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I picked up an EII today for AU$425 = EU300.

http://www.vintagesynth.com/emu/emu_emulator2.jpg

an op shop just near my place was selling it on ebay not fully tested.. I managed to get in and test it with a friends disks yesterday and so knew what I was getting (it's dirty and dusty due to not so perfect storage for a few years.. under a bed with no protection I'd guess..... will need a clean inside and out, and a close check to see if anything inside needs preventative repairs... plus keyboard needs some TLC and drive A needs a look because it doesn't read disks right now... but it works as is. loads off a disk in drive B and plays samples across the keyboard, and hasn't been abused or mistreated and should scrub up pretty nice - to my standards at least! - without too much work)

no disks or manual came with it, but I'll be using it mostly with serial dumps from EMXP anyway, and everything you need to know about these things is on the front panel....

only downside of this purchase is it'll knock my ESQ-1 off it's place on one of the keyboard stands, so I'll probably have to sell that now.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

@ no fi

man, you might want to think twice about selling your esq.  always feel regret that I sold mine.  has good keyboard action, 3 level velocity, easy to program, lots of ways to modulate, etc.. maybe sell the old stand and get one with another tier?

yeah boyeee

you must have the only mmt8 in the world with internal sounds, as normally its a midi sequencer only..

Just placed an order for an SEM.  Delivery not expected until August

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

@Koova:

where did you order it from? And which version?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

@Alex:

I ordered it from Schneiders and I've ordered the CV/patch version.  I've been looking at it for a while but the demos on here pushed me over the edge.

Roland PG-1000. Thanks Smackos!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Akai AX73. Underrated 6 voice VCO synth with midi.
Maybe sounds a little bit thin in poly mode, but can make huge basses in unison mode.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

ah i had one of those for a bit.  thing's a tank!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Yes, it's huge with the 73 keys.
It's my first synth with VCO's (the MB33's doesn't count) and as far as i know the AX73 is one of the few polys with VCO's that has midi. OK, my Juno 60 still sounds more classy but the AX has this raw VCO power, especially in dual- and unison mode.
Already love this thing.

@MACurious
VCO's make a big difference to me. Prophet 600's are VCO midi too.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

89 Ramsa 8118 for $350 on Ebay. Not sure which was the best part of this, it arriving in one layer of cardboard and virtually no padding or the fact it listed as "in great condition" and i've been cleaning it for the past 3 days.  big_smile  missing the power switch but powers on and all channels so far test fine outside of one left channel on the pan knob not working.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

@ruud and sorcerio.

it's the impulse out of the mmt eq and compressed, my machinedrum was out of commission until last night.

so all mmt-8's have that sweet bass drum. wink
you can also set it to 1/64 notes and get crazy rolls to make people gnash their teeth together when taking black mamba powder.
