Re: What new booty have you acquired?
the robot is a cool pedal. i've used it live a few times, but i've been messing with running drum machines through it lately. as with all his stuff, it goes from loud to really loud. haha

The SDSV and SDS8 sound pretty different I guess but how can you not like a SDS8?! Maybe try some effects
too late... SDS-8 is long gone.
the SDS-V might stay for a while though. got it all basically working now, and really loving some of the sounds this one does. Though will have to work out how to pull out that damn mixer/sens board out so i can repair some dry joints or cracked traces. It's soldered onto the backplane, which is riveted into the case!!!!
please post a recording or demo if you have time, always nice to hear others working the Simmons

russian analogue drum machine + 4 pads. it's a bit broken tho. the output volume is super low. almost non existant. anybody know what might cause this?
could be anything from a broken potmeter to a dead opamp.. only one output? no others to test with?
two outputs.. both really silent. all the channel volumes and master volumes seem to work, as they fade out ect. but all on a really low volume. you have to boost it to much that the noisefloor just becomes too big of a problem.
probably really easy to fix once i could just isolate the problem.
Wow... lets see som pics of the pads too....

must have....

there are 5 boards inside. 4 identical ones for the 4 sounds and one master board with the main volume fader, metronome ect... there is one small 8-pin chip with russian letters, that could be an op-amp. all the other chips are bigger 16 pin ones. i have some spare parts and i found a 55320 jrc opamp chip. shoud i try it with that or avoid doing stuff like that?
i'm about to check the soldering of the main board tomorrow for any dirty or cold ones.
all the stuff inside the Eslita has russian text on them, and i can't find anything on the internet about the parts inside ...
Disclaimer..this is not a purchase of ageing 80's hardware...sorry about that.

Wow. What the hell does that RSF look like?
I think Synthi's are overpriced and overrated anyway in 2010. Like 2600s are.
Well nothing could be a substitute for my synthi.
I'll buy one back at some point for sure.
But the rsf was to weird to not trade my ems.
