Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Sold an asston of euro to give Serge a try. Figured this panel on Ebay would be a nice "starter" panel and work well with my other modules. Has the things I especially want to try out like the oscillators, filters and audio processor.

that looks to be in pretty good shape mono! does it work? very cool find.

i finally got a monotron, pulled it out sat at the end of our set when we usually just let everything feedback for 5 minutes, was lots of fun. looking forward to researching some of the mods.

Little test.
Feeding a vco into it which gets some fm from a second vco.
Manual sweeping the filter and resonance.

Yeah the build can be a worry. But you can build or order a custom case.

I guess thats no bad idea if you want to use it live, maybe a custom flightcase is even better (to protect the knobs etc)

actually ive hauled mine all over the last year, and it is surprisingly strong and still working and looking perfect. i thought about a custom case too, but in reality i dont think you need one. even my clear plastic back panel is still intact..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I got my new Vermona Mono Lancet yesterday:

It sounds really good and I think thicker and richer and a bit dirtier than my MoPho.
Also the build quality is excellent. The pots and switches feel very nice and are rock solid too!

Welcome to the Future...

Probably. I reckon the biggest concern (if any) will be protecting the knobs, but a case mod won't change that. Even my extremely sturdy Nord Rack didn't escape it's faith...

Meanwhile my order didn't arrive yet. It said shipping takes 3 to 5 work days, I ordered it saturday, received the order confirmation last tuesday, only minutes before 6 pm so effectively that makes it wednesday...  It might be my imagination, but I think I remember Thomann ships a lot faster. Ah well, I need to finish some tracks anyway, a new machine would only distract me big_smile

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I'd like to try that lancet fo sho.. The mopho fails in the knob department

CRACKED BY MR. Z...

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

@BMX:
Do you know about the new MoPho OS? It adds an quick edit function! You now just have to push the "assign parameters" button and select the parameter with one of the "assignable" knobs and edit the chosen parameter with the "Program" knob!!
It makes editing the MoPho a lot easier and faster too!!

Still the Lancet has the advantage because it has Pots and no encoders.
I might try to do a demo over the next couple of days, though I'm really bad at making full tracks just yet  big_smile

Cheers,

606 for 303 Euro! LOL
It's only missing the battery lid. Using the drumstation to sync it, works great.

curious to hear how you go with it. i had the 2nd prototype, which died after some years. I got a replacement from Mungo (for free!) but I doesn't work. J. Inikinen on the other hand had a new one which worked well...

If you are good with this stuff, I would be interested in sending you mine, maybe you can get it to work (for exchange of funds of course)

I'll let you know how it goes but I'm giving it to somebody else to install.  I am completely crap with a soldering iron.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Nothing forever but now it is raining gear deals locally. I am going to go broke.

The other week an Arp Solina SE for 300, then last week a Korg Rhythm 55 for 65...

Then tonight a 2313 (Mk I, Black and Gold) Arp Axxe AND a Novation Drumstation V2 for 300 CAD.

I have to admit I like the Drumstation a lot. Its 808 is pretty damn close, I like its flexibility and saving sounds. With Serge and euro lust my 808 may be heading for the door soon. I still have a 707 for similar sequencing and between the CR-8000 and Drumstation similar sounds.

The Axxe is in amazing shape. VCA gain slider a little scratchy at times and a couple of sliders are stiff. Coupla chips at the right wood end but other than that it is perfect.

I got lucky. Was the second to respond but the first responder was flakey about arranging a pickup time. Guy called me and I told him he'd have cash in a flash.

Nice to have an old mono around again. The Cat SRM has been in the shop forever and I was missing my SH-09. Traded the SH-09 and my RE-301 away for a modular offer I couldn't refuse but still miss it a bit.

PS. Serge panel arrived today. Marvelous shape just waiting for a power supply.
