Topic: Muslimgauze

I read today that the book about Bryn Jones and his huge body of work is finally coming out next year.

Here's a video with a short interview with Bryn:

So I thought about a topic on Muslimgauze. Do you like his music? What would you recommend from him? During his short life, he released hundreds of records. There's a lot of stuff to listen to.

This is one I like:

Re: Muslimgauze

there is so much music by the man, i think i haven't heard even 5% of all the stuff he made but i especially dig his pre-muslimgauze project e.g oblique graph, amazing ambient/industrial/minimal stuff

lärm macht spass!

and more music from him being released every now and then.
i believe i heard 5% of his work as well. i guess his agenda can be problematic here in israel but he was selling well 10 years ago in my fav record store...
besides i'm almost sure we had Muslimgauze topic

this one is really good imo

Re: Muslimgauze

I don't think we had a topic about him but if I remember well we've discussed his music in the "what are you listening now?" topic.
As deutschmark says: his discography is so huge that it's almost impossible to say what his best tracks are, I also heard about 5% of his music. Tbh, it's mostly the same atmosphere and style but it's great music anyway. Be sure to check the track Mount Of Olives 1, dope track.

indeed, but Omar Souleyman is way too hardcore for muslimgauze.

Re: Muslimgauze

Bryan Jones/Muslimgauze is one of my big inspirators for the last few years.

In fact I seldom listen anything else these days besides Muslimgauze.
Ive got 30 releases or so from him, really awesome and multiple styled stuff.

Over 20 years he might be given the appreciation he deserves now already big_smile

Re: Muslimgauze

I think I first came across him a couple of years ago on The Last Supper compilation http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Last … se/1186983 and really liked his stuff.
Thanks for the recommendations I will be getting more of his work smile

Music is a beautiful opiate, if you don't take it too seriously.
