When I lived in London, I used to enjoy going round the pawn shops, Cash Converters and the like to hunt for cheap and cheerful audio gear. Some of them had quite interesting stuff from time to time.
Since moving to Berlin I haven't really stumbled upon any such places. Anyone know of any?

Yeah, you might think that would have been the case, but in London there's quite a few of these places, and it's a lot more fun finding an unexpected bargain in one instead of refreshing ebay all day.
There's a second hand guitar shop that has all sorts of funny effect pedals..

no, there aren't many good deals here, at least not in stores.
going to flea markets regularly is probably the only option.
Any particular flea markets you'd recommend sneak? Never really seen any gear except for some weird boxy organ thing at Boxhagener.
there was a guy in the summer selling weird audio gear at the Mauer Park flea market on a sunday, not sure if he's always there, any electrical 2nd hand shop will occasionally get weird things in, on sonnenalle there is a guitar shop that normally has a good supply of old pedals / rack units, but sneaktheif is right it's really hard to find a constant source.
Why not open something? lord knows there are lots of empty shops, and it would surely be better than yet another fucking bar or shitty art space for shitty art.

Imagine, a little crappy shop with a real doorbel ringin when you're entering it, selling only used and vintage gear.. And an old man behind the desk saying, 'Son, I'm getting too old for this, take this EMS VCS3 and the ARP 2600 for 300,-..

Hello, yes it's pretty hard for me to find the stuff I need here (actually, now I'm looking for a 2nd hand sp-404 sampler, and I'm in a hurry !)
I'm extending the question, what are the shops, websites, ads, to get some gear, new or second hand in Berlin ? Craiglist is poor, kijiji you can find some stuff but not that much, I don't like ebay and auctions ...
I just know this famous shop at kotbusser tor http://www.schneidersladen.com/ but it's more about modular / expensive gear (but still, it's wonderland if you got money )
I come from Paris, gear seem easier to find there, and cheaper (mostly thanks to that website : audiofanzine.fr, does a german website like that exist ? audiofanzine has a german fork, but it's totally empty)
When I ask; most of people answers to me : ebay or mauer park .. but didn't found what I need there yet.
It feels strange because of all this electronic musicians here of course, I must be ignorant of all good adresses :-) If you can help a lost robot !

btw, you're simply not going to say "oh i want gear X" then find it at some random flea market. the stuff you find from obsessive flea market excursions is more random and zen
Why would anyone not like ebay? It's an amazing thing to have.
But still, doesn't quite have the romance (or zen if you wish) of walking into some junk shop and finding some quirky old piece of gear.
Ah yes, I've been meaning to visit that one but never got round to it...
