By the way, if you guys like the releases from Minimal Wave, be sure to also check out this re-issue label: http://www.darkentriesrecords.com/

I especially like the Xex, Borghesia, Those Attractive Magnets and Second Decay releases they did.

I really like the song 'En Route Vers De Nouvelles Aventures'.

Yeah, first time I heard about them it was about this joke for the Eurovision. But the others tracks on this LP are much better I think.  I remember when I saw the eurovision video I didn't really understand at first. I was like "what are these stranges belgians 80's nerds ?"   lol

@ narcisco : True ! One of my all time favorite with My Time and B Sides. This band was such an inspiration for my music.

Looking/sounding (it seems they take more effort in remastering) good. And I see they have scheduled Starter too!

Re: your last purchases of records

dark entries is really good for all of us who don't want to spend a fortune on well-respected classics
but hey.. i miss those labels who were able to put out stuff that was completely unknown yet sounded absolutely amazing...

happy Lieven (f.e.) is opening his tape archives for our pleasure, that`s why I keep my eyes/ears open for further releases. I am with you dm, those re-issues are nice, but Walhalla (and others too) dig a little deeper for those who want to listen to all the unheard old shit.

weekend- sports 2x12" on splattered coloured vinyl (great neo-shoegaze from SF)

thanks for the tip...do you have any other recommendations which go in the same direction?

i really love all the new neo-shoegaze stuff. screen vinyl image, ceremony, place to bury strangers, sky drops..check these guys and their labels, there's lots more..

as for the MW stuff sounding bad, of course it can be done better.. with good mastering tools and someone at the controls who knows what they're doing.
cassette sound doesn't always mean crap sound.. hell, a bunch of the clsssic techno and acid on djax-up from chicago came straight from cassette. listen to the sound of records from labels like dark entries, their stuff gets mastered at fantasy studios in berkeley.. you got a guy like george horn working on your material, who's been doing that for over 40 years.
same goes for pressings. go to record industry here in holland, you get a guy cutting your record who has been there since the CBS days, who knows vinyl like almost no other in the world.

bottom line: for those prices, i want a decent pressing and a decent sounding record.. and its entirely possible to do that, as other labels prove..

had to buy it although the high price as i love the frozen autumn. it's really good imo, esp. 'wait for nothing' is an outstanding synth wave track.
