wow, it that mick's parents' kitchen?

awesome space for entertaining whatever it is

and who is the robot with red baseball cap and bunker jumper?

keep hackney crap

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

@ byron
"wow, it that mick's parents' kitchen?"
-> nope, that's the cafeteria for the workers. the building where mick's studio is located belongs to a company where over a 1000 people were working for, now there are only 50 or so left and the company uses the cafeteria only for x-mas parties.

"ok, next question, is that mick's studio in between dinner pics and fussball?"
-> yep, that's mick's studio.

"awesome space for entertaining whatever it is"
-> yeah, it is... unfortunately they want to break it down in 2012, hmpf...

"and who is the robot with red baseball cap and bunker jumper?"
-> that's Endfest!

That's some cozy action you got going on there! I think the footballgame finishes it off nicely.  big_smile

"Are you loving?"

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

haha, superpictures smile really nice. Good games of football to: that was a lot of fun!

Stupid about the club though... as far as I could see there were a lot of people having a really good time!

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

@ Scarface
"That's some cozy action you got going on there!"
-> yeah, it was super gezellig!

"I think the footballgame finishes it off nicely."
-> mick is a sucker when it comes to this like "one more match! one more match!". he almost forgot that we had to leave for the party, ha, ha... and in st-f he really found his master!

@ baz
"Stupid about the club though... as far as I could see there were a lot of people having a really good time!"
-> i thought so too! but the variation of styles is too much for the stuttgart crowd. most of the people here are super narrow minded when it comes to music... only one direction, you know? it's not about good music. but about style. so stupid. they like to listen to all kinds of minimal shit or "electro" all night long as long as the music doesn't disturb them, if you know what i mean. they don't go out for the music. but for getting drunk, taking drugs, having sex and doing blabla.
there is no scene for the music that we love, only a few people appreciate what we do and that makes it pretty hard to build up something. and for the club owner it's all about money of course. no more visions here in stuttgart. mick had a discussion with the club owner about all that shit and told him that he's not willing to play stuff to please people. like "i'm not a whore! either take what you get and enjoy it or piss off!". he also told him that back in the days when he started to go out it was always some kind of adventure when the dj was playing stuff he never heard before. but it seems people these days are not up for any adventures...
they instantly start to moan about the music as soon as there is something playing that they never heard before. they like music that doesn't obtrude and in between maybe some hits to get something like a party feeling.

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

Just in short, sunglasses could be mine, judged by the look, but I don't think I had them on when I entered. If you did find them in the castle, I might have had them in my basket with clothings and put them aside when searching for something. But I have two sets of them. One of them is right next to me. I will check if the other one is at home, when I will be back home. Do they have "Made in China" printed on the inside? CE number is "874640". I think I also left my Elmex at your's.

Off to Berghain now. The kinght's rave across Germany continues.

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

@queen: maybe it would be a good idea to put some names to the pics, so everybody knows who is who.

micks studio space is indeed superb.. i remember seeing it for the first time when we moved his stuff in there, and being very jealous about both the space itself and the view..  but i guess thats the difference between nurtingen and amsterdam.. big_smile

but i dont think particular places have different music taste than other, apart maybe from big cities that are always a bit more forward thinking. i'm 100% sure stuttgart could have the same scene as the hague, for instance. the key factor is having a club owner willing to give people a chance to build something up for a longer time, or having squats or alternative spaces where people can do their thing and build on a scene. this seemed more possible in the old days, then again now club owners also have to deal with tons of issues they didn't have to back then and if they have club nights with only 50 people showing up regularly, they can close the business. i guess here the dutch system of having government subsidized clubs and youth centers also helps. people in cities without alternative scenes are not stupid, they're simply ignorant as in not being exposed enough to different music...

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

Well, Mick seemed to disagree with me, but I think the club was well crowded (and quite beyond 50 patrons, even though, I don't know the official numbers). I would have been happy, if that many people would have showed up (and danced) at my parties in my area with Mick and Ruud.

Actually, I was especially surprised by the amount of young girls dancing to the music all night long.

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

Yeah, I thought it was well crowded to, but I'm used to the The Hague standards (3 people showing up and your parents wink)
It is as Rude says: people should be given a chance to build something up, it's so lame to let somebody throw a party and after the first edition telling them it wasn't good enough. Maybe there were a few complains but it could also be that a lot of people liked it and bring their friends next time.
It's a sign of the times though: people want instant satisfaction...

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

recordings!!
smile
no?

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

@Queen of Blood

If nobody else has claimed any rights in the sunglasses yet, would you bring them to Berlin so I can check if they're mine?

Re: [Stuttgart, D] 14/05/10 J.T.C., Intergalactic Gary & Mick Wills

@ Javenger_Dourado
"recordings!!"
-> yes, but...  roll

@ ds
the sunglasses are 100% yours + i was going to bring them anyway...  smile
