Topic: cable to trigger JX3P with TR707

Hi there, this maybe an obvious question but what cable should be used to connect the rim trigger out of the 707 to the seq trigger in of the JX3P?

Will it work if I use one like this??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-25cm-6-35mm-1-4 … _868wt_908

I have been trying to use a phono to min jack cable with converters, and can get it to trigger ny pulling the lead half way out of the JX3P, but the triggered notes are held until the next trigger and it doesn't really work properly...

thanks

That should do the trick, that's what I use to trigger the Juno 6 from the 707.

Re: cable to trigger JX3P with TR707

I got the cable but when i try to trigger the jx3p sequencer, the notes programmer in the jx sequencer are triggered, but not just sounded once, the note is held until the next note is triggered?

Anyone have any ideas?

No one who has experience with this set up got any advice?
cheers

Re: cable to trigger JX3P with TR707

hi scott: I always use mono-cables for triggers, cv's and gates because Ive had some errors in the past when using stereo cables. It sounds like your JX3P needs some sort of 'note-off' trigger so you can put the 707 in 32 and send both a note-on and note-off triggers..

Cheers for the info man, could you advise me where to get such a mono cable? it needs to be regular jack on one end and mini jack on the other.

Re: cable to trigger JX3P with TR707

i think that's the way the sequencer is supposed to work? when you send a trigger you are telling the JX to hold down the key(s) programmed into the step you are at. you need another trigger to tell it to go on to the next. you can also program rests and holds to tell the JX to shut up or keep holding.
sorry for sounding like a kids teacher here but i hope that makes sense.

Re: cable to trigger JX3P with TR707

I do this all the time, you must use a mono cable from experience. Mini jack mono cable and a mini jack to big jack converter at the end. Works just fine from the 707.
