Re: New Korg analog synth

I reckon it'll be something like 150?  I'm almost happy I didn't get the monotron yet.

Re: New Korg analog synth

Analog is definitely mainstream again. At least, judging by the prices some vintage stuff has been selling for on eBay it is definitely 'in vogue' again. I'm waiting for the next resurgence of guitar music before i buy any more synths.

Re: New Korg analog synth

Looks like it's priced at £169 in the UK. Some shops are taking pre-orders, with a delivery date of 01/06/2011:

Re: New Korg analog synth

played with it at the messe today. fun fun fun. the 8 steps thing is ok, since there are only 3 drums sounds. it is really just there as a better sounding metronome. The Korg stand was in the percussion hall, so even with headphones on max, I could not hear too well, but  I think the drums sounded ok. Bass kick seemed usable.

The synth is like the monotron, kinda lacking a real adsr, i though. But the fast lfo-fm stuff is nice.

The flux function is just a phrase looper of what you do on the ribbon. So using this, you can achieve greater than 8th steps.

And it is tiny

Re: New Korg analog synth

had to return it, outside the budget tongue

Re: New Korg analog synth

check out that new monotron delay.. its insane! and absolutely amazing for that price..

Re: New Korg analog synth

not enough versatility.  one trick pony for sure.  i would get the duo instead and if i wanted to be really creative splice up some tape loops.

Re: New Korg analog synth

why a one trick pony? it's a delay.. cant even compare it to the duo..

Re: New Korg analog synth

watch, ima do it.  duo + loop pedal and then return them both. tongue  We are talking stand alone here.  as a delay for other stuff is fine.  but you need other stuff.  thats the point.

Re: New Korg analog synth

Yes, the lack of obvious destination for EG2, and no random LFO (even though the SW update for monotribe has it) gave it away

edit: no I look bit more.. there is no VCO mixer, and that stupid joystick looks very much tacked on
