@Stalker
That Anna Jantar-clip is outragious. Some weird combo of a eurosongfestival-song with a phat electrobeat underneath it in a language I completely don't understand. I love it! smile

We've seen already 5 pages of italian cultural imperialism on those poor brits. So what's the score in eastern europe?
I recall a few scattered examples of yugoslavian & polish origin mentioned on the forum. Would be nice to see them in one surveyable thread...

This is my favourite bulgaro track (thanks for that link you gave me SOS!)  :

I just realised that I have this song on the Bulgarian "Disco Spectrum 1" compilation lp on Balkanton.
It's called Until Yesterday and the artist Blagovest and Svetoslav Argirov, at least that's what the english translation says. the information is also written in cyrillic(?) letters. Literally (transcribed) the songtitel is "Do Vchera".
Anyway, it's a nice song. I remembered it being the standout track on the record.
There's also a a Bulgarian (vocal) version of the "Vogeltjesdans" on it, translated as "Duck Story"

Not sure if you noticed, but Blagovest and Svetoslav Argirov are the "brothers Argirov" (bratq argirovi)

thanks for the tip! will try to check the song out.

Re: eastbloc italo?

Hehee, I registered sometime after cbs went down but never visited here that much afterwards. Anyway some Czech produced stuff, all tracks composed by Jindrich Parma except the one by Eduard Parma:

Jindrich Parma  - Možná. Very ussr sound on this one.

Eduard Parma Jr. - King Kong in Hong Kong. Obscure 1982 disco.

Vox - Rainy day. Nice funky track from some Polish group produced in Czechoslovakia. Embedded play is apparently disabled so here's a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVA91YqN_Jg
http://s.dsimg.com/image/R-2654229-1295137514.jpeg

Karel Gott - Chyť své dny . Catchy songfestival stuff.

Hipodrom - Pražský Haus. 1989 house sound from Czech. The DX7 / trumpet player on the video is apparently Mr. Parma.

ps. I like all kinds of cheesy shit so I hope it's not too much. wink
