Seen tens of times on video but for the first time on "the big screen" (restored) and again it left a big impression on me! Really had to fight my emotions after the film ended!

Found this (somewhat lofi) youtube-clip of the end. Just watched in the comfort of my own home and really got me into tears again (in the cinema I fighted against it not to feel embarassed). But it also make you happy: happy and sad at the same time.

Bought a 2DVD of The Hitchhiker (9 episodes, one also directed by Paul Verhoeven) cause I remember seeing that one on t.v. in the 80's and thought it was quite cool and it I like still. It was just 3euro. Here's the intro:
This episode also got some quite nice 80's synthpop in it (also check music with endtitles):

Ambitious film. Not entirely sure what to make of this one, I certainly wouldn't recommend it to all. But it's a very personal movie that definitely leaves a mark. Some of the pre historic & cosmic stuff is pretty cool in the cinema as well. It does get a bit tiresome Sean Penn walking about looking profound though! haha.
