Sounds and looks like a great machine!
I'm still on the fence to be honest. I wish this demo would have delved deeper into the sounds as opposed to the well known functions that you would assume be present on any modern beat machine. Always a pleasure to listen to Roger though.
agree with ronin - wanted to hear more sounds
p.s. looks like a super cool machine. out of my $$ range
Like I said before, Roger Linn should record himself reading children's bedtime stories. His voice is so soothing.

i was excited about this a few months back, then forgot about it, and now i'm excited about it again. the workflow and interface looks really good. and i've got an evolver so i've got reasonable expectations on the sounds. can't work out how i'd fund it without getting rid of the 808 or sp1200 though...

Although DSI uses new made CEMs for all their stuff, I am quite suprised by the power of the drumssounds I heard from the tempest. CEM is not widely known for punchy/tight perc-oscs. It is in the range of the old Syncussion/DRM1 and DSM200 alike....Design is much better of the Boomchik aswell luckily.

I really dont feel this thing on any level
It's just so hard to connect with DSI stuff. The look and feel are so off-putting. I do applaud that it's not just another 808 ripoff or something but... I want something to come out with less bells & whistles and more raw grit and power. I think there is a market for that.

Something like this maybe?

eagerly anticipated and a disappointment in equal measure
It could have a hit button and every time you pushed it the track you were working on would go straight to the top of the charts, and still no... No a damn thing with blue leds gets in the studio.
