Topic: Best USB audio interface?

I need something with both midi in+out and 1/4" stereo ins, on somewhat of a budget. What are your recommendations? What do you use and what do you think about it? Thanks in advance!

Re: Best USB audio interface?

Best budget deals seem to be these below.A couple of mates bought budget alesis recently and imo they sound horrible.

or

personally use motu for studio and NI audio2 Dj for live. The NI interfaces seem to have seriously loud and thick sound but no midi or input on the cheapest.
I have my midi i/o on a seprate interface. Not for any performance reasons its just the way it worked out.My motu 828 has no midi either.

this looks like good value

Re: Best USB audio interface?

I use the Novation Nio which has worked well for me the past two years but sadly there is one xlr in and 1 1/4" on opposite ends of the interface in so that doesn't work for you.

Focusrite is novation's parent company They have this that fits the bill:

i think they might have a cheaper one though at 199$

Speaking of NI one of my friends recommended the Komplete Audio 6, which does include the ports I need.

Same aforementioned friend actually mentioned he had a Focusrite Saffire but was not happy with it.  hmm

Re: Best USB audio interface?

yeah I mean I could probably get a better interface in terms of quality and specs but in 4 years the nio hasn't crapped out on me.

I am not endorsing this website but they have a full range of interfaces and a way to classify them by price. Seeing that you are california based this is an american website. You find models in your price range and read reviews elsewhere online to see what others experience is. Also are you on mac or pc ... some brands have better support for one of the two:

Check out echo audiofire 4. Sounds really good for that price!
