An electro harmonix cathedral reverb. Very ugly but sounds nice!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Bought on a monotribe on a whim. smile Really fun to plug it into my friend's car stereo.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Marion Prosynth.
The thing is, it didn't come with a PSU, and it looks it uses something fairly exotic in that department.

edit: got it running with a slightly more powerful adapter. (says 28vac in the back, and i used a 34 vac).
runs a bit hot, but it's working! quite similar to the matrix1000 synthesis vise (deep), but a slightly more sterile sound maybe.

Access Virus TI Snow
- I really love the airy, swirly and wide stereo-field of this synth. The fx are super classy and the filter models are fantastic. A tiny bit buggy still after all these years, but nothing so far that has irritated me. It also clips really easily (digitally) so you have always watch the volume levels. The sound and osc/filter modelling totally blows away the Blofeld - which I really wanted to love but didn't find inspiring.

I think U-He Zebra plugin sounds a bit better than this, but costs about 200€. I don't use plugins so that wasn't an option for me.

Yamaha DTX-M12 drum pad
- laying down percussion lines with sticks or hands is way more fun than using a keyboard. This also has 64mb of flash RAM for your own samples, in addition to 1200 built-in sounds. I like that you can have 4-layer velocity-switched samples... or 4 round-robin samples assigned to each pad. The 5 trigger inputs play well with my modular synth smile

I also made a quick-and-dirty trigger pad with 4 piezos mounted on the bottom of an old gel mouse wrist-rest:

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

got myself the electribe ea1 mkII (thanks smackos!)...quite an underrated thing for the prices its going currently (100-120euri). The sound is a bit "washy" e.g. like an analog played through a waterfilter, but also nice in it's own way. The sequencer is pretty badass and very simple for the amount of what it can do!

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Love my EMX for sequencing, as well as the synth parts etc. I use an external midi keyboard in to record parts quicker, then out to da machines.

Waiting for an E-mu Xtreme leadxl1... I figured it was time to try one of the more (seemingly) interesting romplers...

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Gotta keep my spending in check, but managed to squeeze out an MFB522 drum machine.

Actually a much better piece of kit than I anticipated. The thing even has full velocity over midi. My only gripes are the weak snare and lack of a battery compartment  big_smile

Roland D-5 for 60 euros.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Found a beaten up J-106 at flea market for 50 eur, everything works but it has few missing sliders, and some great patches. I felt sorry for the guy who previously owned and probably had this superb machine stolen from by these crooks claiming they 'import' stuff from Switzerland.

Cheapo effects, a Soundmaster SR-88 in exchange for some records and for 140 eurobucks:

Gave it a good clean inside and out - no more dead keys. Couldn't be happier!
