Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

€150 each
i'd be leaning towards the keys out of the three

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

I don't understand why Korg copy 808 and 303 design. It's shame that Korg which is also great gear producer want make money on Roland's legendary machines.

Signal in / Signal out

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

My guess is its target audience are fans of the Roland line of products, and that's why it seemed like a good idea to copy them.

maybe this is their way of tempting roland back into the analog market.

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

my theory is that Korg actually pay attention to what people say they want. on other forums and blogs when the MS20 Mini came out it seemed like a lot of people were going "Roland! Come On! WE WANT AN 808 & A 303!"

That said, from what I've heard the Drum one doesn't sound like an 808 and the Bass one doesn't sound like a 303. But if the price of 150 euro is right, it's pretty cool, mostly because even Musicians would be able to afford them! wink

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

i think it's great. probably won't get any of them, but you can't beat this type of entry-level quality and versatility. i would have loved a simple setup like this way back when. the more new nerds with hardware, the better imo

i'm more excited about that new MFB dancing bear drum machine

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

Nice. Roland: get back in the game!

Honey, in the morning the bees are singing and the birds are stinging in an open head surgery.

Re: New Volca Korg Grooveboxes

I think about getting the bass on. But what I'm wondering about, is if there is something like a song mode?? Doesn't say anything like that on the korg website. hmm
edit: Checked the manual and it doesn't, but it seems like you can switch between the 8 memory sequences on the fly with some key combination.
